Kontakt 8 freezes computer and makes it reboot itself
Hello.
I'm having this issue when opening Kontakt 8 either in standalone or as a plug-in in Logic Pro, it freezes the computer and then reboots itself.
It also happens with other plugins like Massive and Komplete Kontrol.
Any help would be very appreciated. Can't work on any music with this problem :(

Other than knowing you are working on a Mac computer, we have zero inkling on your Mac model, and macOS, Logic Pro, Kontakt 8, Massive, and Komplete Kontrol versions. If you can provide these and other relevant information on your setup, it will help us to find possible causes and solutions on your issue—we are not mind readers nor able to peek into your Mac computer or your studio setup.

Could be another variation of already known Mac problems. E.g. this and also this .
Usually this is an issue with Apple silicon (?) and high resolution screens , and if it is that then an intermediate suggested fix is to use HDMI (?) and set refresh rate to 60 HZ to see if that makes any difference.
I am not on Mac so hard for me to follow, but it appears to me that this could possibly have been fixed earlier but then have re-surfaced in another incarnation ?

Mac Studio M2 Max, OS Sequoia 15.5, Logic pro 11.2, Kontakt 8.4.1, Komplete Kontrol 3.5.0, Massive 1.7.0.

Forgot to add I have a Samsung Neo G9 57" monitor.
Just want to add that I was having no issues with the same setup except that I was using a Mac Mini M4 instead of a Mac Studio M2 Max.

Yes, I read that the monitor resolution could be the problem but I was having no issues with a Mac Mini M4 I was using previously to my Mac Studio M2 Max. I'm using HDMI with a 60 HZ refresh rate on my monitor (the same as with Mac Mini M4) and still having this issue.
I'm guessing my Mac Mini M4 got mad and cursed the Mac Studio for replacing it lol

Both the Samsung Neo G9 57" monitor and the Mac Studio fits the problem type.
But even if then you still should check the Kontakt Crashes support page solutions

For those who wish to continue using the released version of Kontakt, the following workarounds may reduce the frequency of crashes:
- Avoid using an external monitor if using a MacBook
- Try an alternate connection (e.g. displayport / thunderbolt if using HDMI, or vice versa)
- Adjust resolution or frame rate of external monitor
- Use a different external monitor

Some people also have had problems with "Nvidia G-SYNC"
.
Other than that then since Jeremy_NI is not here today then my only other advice would be to contact N.I. Support(all) . (hopefully Jeremy_NI will be back later this week)

Thank you for taking the time to give me a solution!
I have tried many ways to fix this problem but with no success. I just submitted a ticket to see if NI can help me because it's a shame I cannot use my monitor and a Mac Studio with NI. I had to plug back in my Mac Mini M4 to use Kontakt and I'm using it with the same monitor at 120 Hz refresh rate without a problem.
We'll see what they say from NI. I'll keep it updated and again thank you very much for taking the time.
