Licensing and Software

This MK2 was left to me from a nephew that passed away. There is no software in the box, only a USB cable. Is it possible to purchase the necessary license or software to use this device?

Alas then N.I. does not sell deprecated software.

You should try explaining the situation to N.I. support and ask if they can help you get the hardware serial transferred to your account , if you get the hardware transferred to your account then you should get what is considered as base software for the device.

That however will not solve the next problem which is if the hardware and what ever software you get will be compatible with your computer OS.

Please contact N.I. Support (all) and explain situation to them and ask for their help.
