Purchased new MIDI controller MK3 S61 from guitar center but says serial is used

I'm using the chat to submit my issue but I'm not sure if its working and connecting me with an agent. It says 0 waiting time but its been like that for almost an hour now. Just in case chat wasn't routing correctly, I thought it might be a good idea for me to make a post here about it.
Purchased new keyboard from store and having trouble getting the serial activated.
Sorry if this is the wrong use for this post.

If you just bought the S61 as a new product but the serial number is already registered I'd suggest returning it to the store either for a refund or a replacement as it's almost certainly a return.

Thanks. I may end up returning since its been 2 hours waiting for NI chat support. No estimated wait time or anything. Sure do miss phone support.
