Yesterday I started Traktor Pro again and it looked like it updated (now I have Version 3.8.0 46. After launching Traktor all my playlists and tracks are gone and I tried to figure out what happened with community posts that had the same problem but somehow it is not working as I cannot find the mentioned folder containing previous .nml files. I attached my folder structure.

I am using a MacBook M1 2020 on Sequoia 15.3.2.

I appreciate every help highly as I am not into computers and just would like to play some music. Thanks in advance.

Sunny greetings from Cologne

The only file in the backup folder is the following: collection_2025y04m09d_13h38m31s.nml :(

    Interesting.

And you did not change where the collection should be saved? Some people save to collection with the music on an external disk.

I also checked my external SSD but one there I only have a folder with free tracks I downloaded from Soundcloud.

@Martiniix_NI Can you take a look at this?

Seems like it's not the first time, but it's rare.

No one in the community had any good ideas why it happened. For people without backup this means total datalos :S

That's sad. Thanks so much looking into it anyway :)

I am quite new and just created a track collection and first playlists for practicing my first set. How can I circumvent these problems in the future? Never want it to happen again…

Create your own backups. At minimum the collection.nml, maybe the traktor_settings.tsi.

But what I do is just copy the whole folder to another computer / disk.

@lord-carlos did not know that this is necessary. Will check how to do backups. Thanks so much for your support and looping in @Martiniix_NI

I don't think there is support for TP3 anymore right… best to use the latest version TP4 yes?

Same thing happened to me and this is what I did to get it my playlist back and my collection. Try launching traktor and then right click on track collection and select "Import another collection.

the navigate to the previous version of traktor, ie 3.6 or whatever and select it then find the collection

within that file and select it.

    Hey @Martiniix_NI,

Thanks @KL8. However, the problem is that I do not have any other collections in the backup folders. They were all erased after the automatic update happened.

    Hey @LoveForNature

It appears that your documents are currently stored on your iCloud, which may be the primary cause of the issue you are experiencing. Syncing content, projects, or samples with a cloud drive can lead to performance complications. While backing up your content to a cloud drive is feasible, it is advisable to refrain from configuring real-time syncing. The synchronization of your content, projects, or samples should only take place when the NI application is not in operation.

To resolve this issue, please close Traktor, navigate to the following location, and transfer the Traktor root directory to your desktop:

Macintosh HD > Users > User Name > Documents > Native Instruments > Traktor x.x.x

After completing this step, kindly open Traktor, access preferences, go to file management, and update the Root directory to the new location on your desktop.

Finally, please restart Traktor, and it should function properly.
