How do I get the Core macro "X-over 3wLR4+" to output sound?

Hi,

I am dabbling in multiband processing and ran across a Core macro in the factory library titled "X-over 3wLR4", which seems like an ideal way to split a signal into three discreet bands via Linkwitz-Riley LR4 filters. And got stuck trying to get it to work as intended..

The Reaktor Core manual advises to use a "X-over 3wLR4" to split the signals, sending each band to be processed, and then recombining the splits with a "X-over 3wLR4+" macro. Doing it this way apparently solves all that nasty phase/sample delay issues which might otherwise manifest from multiband processing. However, when I connect the split band signals back to "X-over 3wLR4+", all audio output is muted..

What am I missing? Any further insight would be appreciated. Attached screenshot shows what sort of core patch results in no sound.. If patch the "X-over 3wLR4" directy to the outs, I do get sound from the splitbands as expected..

EDIT: There is something I am indeed not getting.. "X-over 3wLR4+" looks like this inside - that red can't be good right?

EDIT II: Ok, so supplied the SR bus bundle from the splitter module to the combiner, and now I do get sound.. So I might have solved it for now, but appreciate someone explaining to me why this particular macro wants the SR bundle when many others work without it?
