Native Access won't see my content location

Help!

I have all my Kontakt/NI instruments installed and activated, as I have had for many years. Under preferences now, though, when I go to show the "content location" folder (the users>shared folder, as recommended) it will not let me confirm that as it is greyed out.

I have tried uninstalling all NI files and re-installing Native Access and all instruments, deleting the Native Instruments folder in Users>Shared. All looks well until I launch Logic Pro and load a VI in Kontakt Player 8 where it only loads in demo mode. I have read others with the same issues and tried all the suggested solutions, without success, so far.

It's been this way for 3-4 weeks now and I have important studio work to do. Help much appreciated. Here are my screenshots showing install locations and the greyed out "confirm" button.

I'm using Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.2, Logic Pro 11.1.2 on an M1 Mac Studio.

Noticed Clean My Mac in your listing there.

Strong recommendation to not use this ever as it is known to ruin a well behaved NI install.

And most users do not use that Shared location for content. It is almost always an external drive.

"And most users do not use that Shared location for content. It is almost always an external drive."

That’s interesting. It is NI’s recommended default location. As I say, I have been using my NI library, with Clean My Mac installed, for years with no problems. I will try removing it though and see if that helps.

    Thanks

Fair enough. Did not realize it was an NI default. Not a Mac user.

But Clean My Mac is another thing altogether. Lots of stories in these forums about pain using that with NI product installed.

I am removing CMM. Hopefully that was it. If a clean install of the OS is needed that will be a pain. Thanks for the suggestion, VP.

Okay. Clean My Mac removed and all NI software uninstalled and re-installed. Unfortunately, no change in behavior. Native Access shows individual instruments installed in the recommended Users>Shared location, but when I go to Maintenance and click on "content location" I have to select Users>Shared but it "sees" no instruments installed and so the "confirm" button is greyed out.

Are there NI employees on this forum that might be able to help me solve this one?

    Thanks for prior suggestions.

Hmm - just tried this here on Windows and I immediately get an Explorer window - inviting me to poick a location.

Must be different on the Mac.

Yes, rebooted. The last thing I can think to try is to put my laptop next to my Mac Studio, which both have NI installed, and compare folder by folder to see if there's any difference.

If you open a blank project in Logic do you get the same issue?

Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol gets some of their info from Native Access

Be sure that you are using latest version of Native Access for your OS

Did you try resetting the Native Access XML file , look at section 8 here : My Product is Missing in Native Access

If this helps setting content location then you might have to reset the DB of other apps.

Also ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats
