what do i have to do to use my kontakt libraries on two computers?
Download and install latest version of Native Access for your OS , log into correct account and install Komplete Kontrol , Kontakt , and Kontakt libraries and then setup Midi and audio correctly in the apps and run apps as standalone one time at least..

Is it possible to have my libraries saved on a PC-formatted external hard drive for use with my PC desktop, and also have the libraries saved on a separate Mac-formatted external drive for use on the road with my Macbook? Some of the older NI advice seems to suggest that the only way to do this would be to have one dual-formatted hard drive that the libraries would be saved on, and to use that for both computers, depending on whether I was at my desk or travelling with the laptop, but some more recent posts suggest that the best way is to have a separate hard drive for each system, but doesn't provide any advice on how to achieve that. I worry that if I format a fresh drive for my Macbook, then start relocating paths in Native Access on the Macbook for the Mac-formatted libraries , it might mess up the locations in my PC-Native Access. I'd love to hear from anyone who successfully managed to do this, since I imagine I can't be the only person out there with the same workflow, and I'm loathed to start relocating with abandon until I find out if it's possible or not.
AFAIK the PC and Mac libraries and Native Access aren't directly compatible. You would have to use a PC based Native Access and libraries on your PC and a Mac based Native Access and libraries on your Mac. I don't know if NI has provisions for allowing you to be able to use duplicates of a Mac library as a legal duplicate of the PC library so you would only have to pay for one.
When you buy a library, you don’t buy a computer related version, but the product.
NA will take care of installing the right version on your computer, depending if it is a PC or a MAC
As already suggested indirectly by other people here then install the Komplete Bundle/products on your Mac using the external drive dedicated for the Macs .
Then also install the whole thing on the PC using the external drive formatted for the PCs .
Of course what 'Content' (Kontakt libraries and expansions) you have already installed on either system and either drive for same system type that you ought not have to download when wanting to use on same computer system type. For that you could use the Reinstalling a Komplete Bundle Without Re-Downloading Kontakt Libraries . AS well as if moving Content within same system type then you should be able to use the Moving a Native Instruments Product to Another Location on Your Computer and the Using the Repair / Relocate All Function in Native Access.
