Recording MIDI chords from Maschine into Logic Pro 11

Hello,

I just purchased the Maschine MK3 and I love it so far. As I am not a keyboard player I love the feature that i can play chords on the pad on a speciffic key as well for melodic the option to set-up a key and neved be offkey.

I would like to use this advantage to record the chords I play from MK3 in Logic Pro 11 as MIDI. I have noticed that in MIDI mode on MK3 I cannot play chords, only individual notes.

When I'm not in MIDI mode on MK3 I can see the signal in the Logic Pro channel but when recording, is not generating any MIDI on the track. I have a MIDI keyboard playing that is generating the MIDI on the same track when recording.

Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestion, for me it worked but it was a little bit different than in the video:

    • I don't have the Host option on output MIDI destination In Maschine 3.0. I have chosen "Logic Pro Virtual In"
    • On Logic pro I was under the impression that I need to load the Maschine as the MIDI instrument, but this didn't worked. I have chose other midi instrument like "Kontact 8" and it works.

    Thank you again!

It´s not for Logic, but here is how it works in Ableton. I think as a Logic User you know how to do that in Logic ;-)

you can load maschine in logic , it will be under plugins , the host option is only in the plugin ,

What you’re doing is routing maschine standalone to logic , which is one way you can use it , not sure how welll it works that way , I did test out that virtual port when it was added to logic

Any way logic and maschine used to be a pain , you had to use midi mode , but now they’ve added , internal midi routing to logic it works like other daws , to a degree, you can output your maschine patterns to logic , and you can use the maschine controller , to it full capabilities

Anyway I downloaded logic again , and tested out how tyou can use maschine in logic
