Izotope RX11 — Authorizing through Native Access

I have a NI subscription that includes Izotope RX11, which I purchased this after my trial expired. How do I authorize the plugin (I'm on Mac/Pro Tools) using my subscription serial #?
Some additional info:
When I launch the plug, it prompts me to authorize through the Izotope portal, but when my subscription does not appear there — just in Native Access. I've tried using my subscription serial number when prompted for a "serial number" but it does not recognize it as valid.
I've also tried downloading RX11 from Native Access. While all the other plugins in the bundle have download and installed fine, RX11 continually fails. Some Googling suggests granting full disc access, rebooting, rebuilding preferences, etc. I've done all that without success.
I've also contacted NI support via chat. Some sources recommend contacting Izotope support, but looking for a contact email eventually brings me back to NI.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. This is beyond frustrating.

Exact OS version ? exact error given ? (screenshot of error ?)
Please go over the Mac user checklist below here :
Be sure to use the latest version of Native Access for your OS

There is no support other than through the N.I. / iZo Support web interface or what help that we and Customer Care can provide in the forum. Support links include : N.I. Native Access and Installation Support and N.I. Account Support ,
In case that you need guidance contacting support : Please read : how to get support !
If you have a subscription through N.I. then I think that attempting to use any iZotope.com tools or installers will fail one way or the other and that you need to approach N.I. Native Access and Installation Support
If an install fails using N.A. then if the download itself is complete then you can still try using the installer from the download folder if there. But if there then you ought to first remove any trace from previous install attempt first : How to Uninstall Native Instruments Software from a Mac Computer
General Mac user check list :
ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on mac OS and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats
Also then please check that iCloud Private Relay has been turned off : Native Access Error Message: "Download failed" (macOS)
Also then do not use Clean My Mac.
And quote Kymeia : if using Sequoia then N.I. apps must be added to the Local Network

Native support has been lackluster. Someone reached out to me and ultimately provided links to the individual products (as you suggested they might) but the products listed for my account were inaccurate and didn't include any of the stuff I'm actually paying for.
In any event, I finally got it to work with the help of chatGPT. Here's a summary of what we found and then the steps taken to remedy the issue. The root of everything was a missing system file. I don't know why it would have been missing. My system performance is essentially perfect, but apparently this file is not used regularly. Why it is required to install RX11 and not all the other Izotope and Native components, I don't know.
Symptoms:- RX 11 wouldn’t install or authorize properly.
- I was unable to use
sudo
commands in Terminal. - vbnetCopyEditsudo: /etc/sudoers is world writablesudo: no valid sudoers sources found, quittingsudo: error initializing audit plugin sudoers_audit
- Other errors indicated missing or misconfigured sudo files (
/private/etc/sudoers.d
,/var/db/sudo/ts
). ls -l /usr/bin/sudo
returned "No such file or directory", meaning thesudo
binary itself was missing.
Root Cause:
It turns out my sudo configuration was broken, possibly due to a permissions issue, corruption, or a system update. Since sudo is required for installing system-level software, this prevented RX 11 from installing correctly.
Solution:
- Booted into macOS Recovery Mode (Command + R on restart).
- Used Terminal in Recovery Mode to repair permissions and restore missing sudo files:
- bashCopyEditls -l /usr/bin/sudo
- swiftCopyEditcp /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/usr/bin/sudo /usr/bin/sudo
- bashCopyEditchmod 755 /usr/bin/sudochmod 440 /etc/sudoers
- bashCopyEditls -l /usr/bin/sudo
- Rebooted normally.
- Tested
sudo
, which now worked correctly. - Reinstalled RX 11, and everything worked as expected.
Takeaways:
- If you see "sudo: no valid sudoers sources found", your sudo configuration may be broken.
- Reinstalling macOS (or fixing sudo in Recovery Mode) can resolve this.
- This was NOT an iZotope-specific issue, but it completely blocked the installation.

Thanks for sharing, I've forwarded this info to our teams too, hopefully it helps other users in the same boat.

Thanks for the helpful information. I'm going to dig into what you provided here and I'll check back to relate my experience.

Still getting an error when installing RX11. Notably, this is the only plugin that is giving me problems. All the Ozone and Nectar plugs, which are also Izotope, have installed successfully. Even after double-checking all the things on your checklist above, the error seems to be identical in every way to what I was getting previously.
I've attached a few screen grab, including the error message, the full-disc-acess screen, and the NI bundle for which I have an active subscription.I'm running a Mac M2 Pro with Sequoia 15.2.
Full disc access was granted to Native Access and NTK Daemon (not sure what the latter is exactly)
Local Network access is provided for Pro Tools, but none of the NI stuff — though, I understand this is added automatically when an app requests permission. The download for RX11 takes about 7 minutes and it isn't until the installation process that it fails. I don't see any installers in the downloads folder. I did remove all NI stuff on my machine according to your instructions.
iCloud relay is off

Quote Hayo_NI , December 2022 : Dev Talks: Why We Transformed Native Access
The gist of it is that the functionality was decoupled from the interface, and two separate entities operate the system: one is the new dark-themed Native Access (NA2) interface you see today, the other being the NTK Daemon, responsible for activating, downloading, installing, and managing your products. You can think of it as NA2being the button and the Daemon the wiring and the cogwheels. This allows us to work in parallel without blocking each other, allowing for swift UI iterations, and installation improvements without blocking all other work from going through

There appear to problems for some Mac users getting apps added to the Local Network access
I have a NI subscription that includes Izotope RX11, which I purchased this after my trial expired.
Alas then this can be another source of problems if having or having had a subscription and then owning a product. Usually however then problems in connection with subscriptions only shows by the product appearing as Demo.
I don't see any installers in the downloads folder.
Be sure that you are looking in the N.A. downloads destination as opposed to a general OS folder.
Supposing that you bought RX 11 on the N.I. site and that everything on the Mac check-list is checked and your disk format is APFS then at this point I can only suggest that you contact N.I. Native Access and Installation Support they have all the tools to do real diagnostic. Also the support can supply you with a RX 11 installer download if necessary.

I would add that while AI has garnered much attention for generating fake pictures and the such, I find it genuinely helpful for coding. I've used it for generating Python scripts for concatenating audio files and have saved myself countless hours of repetitive work. It's not perfect, but I don't know if I would have ever solved this problem without it.

@Jeremy_NI , I suppose that this one will fit nicely into your notebook ? (Broken Sudo config. ?)

Thank you you very much for sharing the solution 🙂

Thank you , yes , but you never mentioned any such error at least I am not aware of it and you didn't post any screenshots saying so either ?
