Komplete 15 Ultimate Upgrade for S-Series Mk3 Controllers (Sweetwater)?
So I'm just being extra cautious here!
Sweetwater has a Komplete 15 Ultimate Upgrade for S-Series Mk3 Controllers on sale at the moment. I own a S61 MK3, and have it registered on my NI account. I do not own any version versions of Komplete Standard or Ultimate.
My question: Am I right in thinking that JUST owning a S61 MK3, and having it registered to my NI account, fulfills all of the pre-reqs for this upgrade? I feel it's obvious and may be dumb for asking lol, but it's a lot of $$ to end up being wrong about it lol.

I'd suggest asking Sweetwater to confirm the offer via email. That way if it turns out it's not valid you have valid proof of what you were told and should be able to get a refund. I know the Komplete Select upgrades from NI have been discontinued while the sale is active as it's cheaper to buy the products outright with the 50% off deal.

I suppose that you are referring to this product: "Native Instruments Komplete 15 Ultimate Edition Software Production Suite - Upgrade for S-Series Mk3 Controllers" Note: This special pricing reflects an update for customers who already own a Native Instruments S-Series Mk3 MIDI keyboard controller. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer if you have any questions.
If there is truly no prerequisite for use other than owning a S-Series MK3 keyboard then it is a product that I have never heard of before.
You write : "I own a S61 MK3, and have it registered on my NI account. I do not own any version versions of Komplete Standard or Ultimate." But you fail to mention if you have the Komplete Select on account , you ought to have that as that is also considered as base software for the S-Series keyboards.
As for the Sweetwater offer then to me it makes no sense unless that if what Sweetwater really means but does not write is that what they sell is the upgrade from Select to Ultimate which makes a lot more sense , and that they fail to mention the Select requirement because they assume that any owner of the S-Series MK3 keyboard will have Komplete Select.
However no one but Sweetwater knows what Sweetwater sells , so as it says on the page then Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer if you have any questions. And ask if what they sell is the upgrade from Select or if you do not even need Komplete Select but just a S-Series MK3 Keyboard.

Thanks for replying! Yeap that's the right product link, I'm a newcomer here so I couldn't post it myself! I've never heard of it either, I've only ever seen upgrades from Select.
But yeah, I actually did contact Sweetwater via email a couple times, and each time they've called they "check their notes" and say everything they see indicates that the website is right and I don't need anything else other than the S61 MK3. Though they always sound uncertain about it lol. I kind of wish they'd reply via email so I'd have it writing to try and recover my $ if it doesn't work out!
So basically if I go for it it'll be a shot in the dark lol! Or just wait for the summer sale!

Well ,if you do have the Komplete Select on account and it has not yet been used as foundation for an upgrade then it should not matter if it only requires the keyboard or if it requires Select. I don't know what return conditions that SweetWater offers but else you could ask to be able to return if the product requires more than the keyboard itself.
As for the Summer Sale then I have no idea what offers it will bring.

I had the same question, as there are several music shops selling upgrades that are only for S-series owners. Seems it will be cheaper to upgrade this way rather than buying an 'S-series-keyboard-plus-Komplete Standard' bundle.
BTW, what version of Kontakt comes with the S61 Mk3 (without a Komplete bundle)? Kontakt would be my main reason for upgrading.
Thanks
