Mk2 Keyboard Communication issues with KK Software

I am reaching out to seek assistance regarding ongoing issues I’ve been experiencing with my Komplete Mk2 keyboard and the Komplete Kontrol software, particularly after the recent updates, including version 3.0.

Since upgrading, I have noticed that when selecting different presets on my MK2, the software often does not reflect the correct preset on the screen. For instance, there is often a mismatch between what I select on the hardware and what is displayed in the software interface. Also, often when I click the preset button on the Mk2 keyboard, instead of selecting the next preset for the current instrument, it will go back to a previously used instrument.

Additionally, I have observed that users across various forums are encountering similar problems, suggesting that this may not be an isolated incident. It seems Mk3 users are also reporting issues as well.

Could you please provide any updates on whether a fix is in the pipeline for these issues?

Mac OS Sonoma 14.7.1 / Cubase Pro 13.0.41 / Mk2 / Komplete Kontrol 3.3.3 / Komplete 15 Ultimate (All NI instruments and hardware are up to date)

Reports like this are quite common. KKv3 has also felt buggy and slightly "off" with the MKII series.

A better choice for MKII is to consider using KK v2.9.6. Mature, stable and all features intact. It is not resizable like KKv3 is (if that is a concern) and it has a few limitations with some of the new K8 bits and bobs like Conflux etc.

That said - for what it lacks in these two areas - it more than makes up for it with it's layout, speed and stability - AND its ability to drag and drop samples.

These features are keeping me on it until such time that KKv3 catches up and (hopefully) gets a better overall vibe.

    Good luck

Thanks Vocalpoint. I guess my hope here is that, since this has been an issue for months now, the NI team would make it an urgent matter. I hear that the reason this has been on the back burner is their focus on getting Maschine 3 out. That's done, so I hope they will get their existing software working now.
