A big question is how I can buy a new serial number for my second hand MK3

Hello Daniel, it is not possible to buy a new serial for any hardware.

If you purchase your product on second hand and if it is registered to the previous owner, you should reach the previous owner asking for transferring the license and sending you the Transfer ID.

If you can't reach the previous owner, then, please create a support ticket or open a chat support using this link below:

providing a photo of the serial card at the bottom of your hardware and the invoice/proof of purchase, so our team can help you freeing up the license from the previous owner's account.
