Hi everyone ,recently I've bought an arturia beatstep pro to route my maschine and my moog dfam. But it seems i cant figure out how to make it at the right tempo. I would like to use the arturia as a master clock, the maschine for the synths and dfam for the drums.

If someone knows how to route it the best way let me know

thanks

I can’t help you in detail with that setup because out of the three I only have the M+.

However, here are some general tips:

    • Make sure your M+ is running on Firmware 0.1.9. It fixes a couple of MIDI related bugs introduced by 0.1.6.
    • Some users report that the M+ doesn’t sync very well to MIDI clock. Either use the M+ as master clock, or use Ableton Link instead of MIDI. I guess both isn’t feasible with your specific selection of devices.
    • There are a couple of threads about M+ and MIDI sync, which might contain some information applicable to your setup.

As Master M+ is better but it depends on other devices protocols.

I am using my M+ as a USB MIDI clock slave, and it syncs up well enough IME. Beatstep doesnt send MIDI clock over USB now does it? If not, I'd use M+ as the clock master, and supply the clock to beatstep over DIN MIDI
