Use cases:

• Tracks with unsteady BPMs
  • either from live drummers, or Old disco / 80s Pop tracks
• Tracks with multiple BPMs
  • Transition tracks with abrupt ot smooth changes

Why manual adjustment is not a solution:

• Beatjumps:
  • Impossible to fix in advance because the jump happens instantaneously
• FX BPM-synced effects: (eg delay)
  • Impossible to fix in any situation, because FX fully depend on the beatgrid
• AutoLoops:
  • IN point: with quantize off, you have to enable the loop at precisely the right time
  • OUT point: In this case you have to immediately enter "loop out adjust mode" to fix the out point as fast as you can
• Sync beatmatch:
  • In this case you HAVE to compensate continuously using the jogwheels on the whole eg. 60s transition (manual beatmatch)

Thank you @alec.tron to bring this topic up again and keep it in the mind of the community and the product owners of Traktor as well. I really hope NI is going to deliver this most anticipated feature soon! They have already mentioned in one of their posts (approx. a month ago) that this feature is on their midterm roadmap. It would be good to know what the midterm means for them... any idea guys?

Congrats, your idea has reached 30 votes in under 3 months. We'll bring it up with the TRAKTOR team to gauge the feasibility of adding this feature to our product. 

Btw I know this feature has been brought up so many times before, but we're hoping this new process will help us reevaluate the features that are most important to our community. 🙂

Thank you for bringing that topic again because I think it is definitively the most requested feature ever.

We engaged into research phase for flexible beatgrid with our design team to find the best way to implement this into TRAKTOR's architecture and make it compatible with other features.

Are you still in the research phase or in the prototype phase? Slightly conflicting messaging...

If this get on the beta, I will jump on asap and pay that extra for pro plus. Cuz this is what I miss the most. Other features is cool and so. But this one is badly need imo.🤞🏻🥹

@Jonas_NI there is a silpler feature thay would deliver value quicker to the users:

Multiple BPMs, but only manualy introduced.

Ie, separating the ability to play multiple BPMs, from having the software automatically detect said BPMs.

What do you think?

Do we know when next beta is out? Is the roadmap for autumn/winter 2022 or we dont know then flexible beatgrid gets on beta?
