Issues with Komplete Kontrol 3.2.1 in Ableton Live10

I'm not aware of a Python version of Live. I'll google it, but not right now; I'm behind schedule today and have too many things to get caught up on. Got a link in the meantime?

Oh, and everybody keeps calling it "Ableton". The company's name is Ableton, and the DAW is called "Live" or "Ableton Live".

I'm only picking on this because the day may come when Ableton has a SECOND software product. Suddenly, what we call things will matter. A lot. Better to train ourselves to get it right now, before it's a problem. 😊

There is NOT a "Python version" of Live. There is an API for remote scripting through API. That's a WAAAAYYYY different thing.

And unless somebody much smarter than me about API implementation can chime in, the adding of an API is generally NOT to the level of being an architectural or structural change. So if the API became available with Live 10, 11, or 12 (I don't know when it was new, and don't really care to research it at this time), that version would not necessarily be architecturally different than the prior versions.

I'm happy to be proven wrong, but in the absence of that, I'm done researching this topic.

I have the same problem. The Komplete Kontrol plug in is getting useless cause the GUI is totally unresponsive and after some minutes you get crash of the entire mac. This is something that i have never experienced before. I've got tto mention that also the standalone version of the plug in has the same behaviour.

I also uninstall and reinstall the plug in. With no luck.

You ought always supply the most basic of information such as computer type , specific OS version and version numbers of software ! , from your profile page I gather that the specific computer is a Mac M2 ?

If you are using OS Sonoma then your problem could be related to this one , especially if you are using a Kontrol MK3 keyboard ! : Komplete Kontrol will Crash Mac Sonoma 14.3.1

Else : Then try checking things in this order:

Since you have same problem with both KK stand-alone app and plugin then start with testing only standalone first !

Please double check that ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon have full disk access ! (How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS)

Then reset the Komplete Kontrol Database

Then check if KK will run now !

If KK will run as stand-alone now then check same for plugin in DAW.

Else check if KK will run with both KK standalone and after that DAW in Rosetta mode (some people that have Mac M problems have reported that if running the app first in Rosetta then it mysteriously ran fine without afterwards ?)

If neither of the above works then you could try to see if Komplete Kontrol 3.1.0 will run as stand alone (if not then including Rosetta) !

If it will run with 3.1.0 then you may have to re-scan the plugins in Ableton Live to make it run in DAW, eventually deep re-scan : Deep-rescan all installed plug-ins. To start a deep rescan, hold ALT/Option and click "Rescan." (VST/AU plug-in doesn't appear in Live's Browser)

Else if either nothing of the above helps or if KK 3.1.0 will run but not the new KK 3.2.1 will not run then contact N.I. Komplete Kontrol Support as already suggested by BIF ! How to get in touch with our Customer Care or read my Support page functionality changes post here !

@nison79 Do you have a M2 or M3 Max/Pro/Ultra? We've seen similar reports with Kontakt 7 and Komplete Kontrol, full crash of computer/Kernel Panics. Check this post: Kontakt 7 window across multiple screens causing Kernel panic shutoff on Mac Studio! (KT-8785)
