Crop Pattern based on Selection

As a user,

I want to be able to select a range of notes and automatically crop the Pattern start and end point based on my selection

in order to

isolate relevant parts of a Pattern more quickly without having to manually adjust the start and end point.

This may include the ability to more conveniently “wrap around” note events, as today is only possible via using the “Nudge” feature on the hardware and does not have a meaningful software workflow.

Shift + All to select all notes in the zoomed view first, the have a crop pattern option.

Yeah, I love that feature in Ableton. I can created a 8 bar loop, duplicate it and then crop the patterns and separate them into 4 2-bar patterns.

I agree but I am doing exactly what you described. Still it doesn't mean you don't have a good and maybe better idea.

I duplicate pattern and in Events I quickly select all notes and select only what you want or use Group Pad Mode and do same with all channels in Group or just the ones I choose.

Tip 6 is Nudge but you can use Encoders and choose what you want.

SHIFT+Follow will lead you to Grid separated for Perform, Arrange and STEP-what you need to use precise or completely OFF grid value. You can choose 1/2 is way faster than 1/16. But you can touch Pads in sequencer and maybe it's faster way to choose specific Events.

Maybe you have some better solution.
