Arranger improvements

An arrangement is what turns our musical building blocks, loops, and ideas into a full song or composition. The Maschine Arranger currently allows you to put sections onto a timeline, fill them with scenes and extend or augment them with clips.

• When you think of an Arranger improvement, what are the workflows or features you would like to see changed, updated, or added?
• What things would you like to be able to do that you currently can’t?
• What things do you currently like and would not want to see changed?

1. Import export pattern/clips from another project - new categories in Maschine browser - Patterns and Clips. Unchain them from groups.
2. Save current scene as new project

The way I have been arranging songs on my DAW of choice for over a decade has been to realtime record pattern and scene changes into the arrangement. Realtime recording the part changes as they play out makes it easier to arrange a song instinctively, without having to think in bars or beats or stopping the music. This has always been my number one request for Maschine, and continues to be so.

You can do this sort of workflow on a Roland TR-808 from 1980; it boggles my mind why this is still not possible in Maschine (without resorting to running Maschine as a MIDI controlled plugin in another DAW)

Record all actions of a jam with all scene changes, mutes, parameter modulation into an arrangement and be able to tweak it and refine it afterwards

RECORD TO TIMELINE!!!

If I’m playing a pattern, utilizing mutes & effecting parameters this should have the option to be imprinted to the timeline.

I know this isn’t an arranger issue, but there’s nowhere else for me to post this. Why can’t we pull up the Mixer view in the software by pressing Shift+Mixer on the Hardware????? This was possible on the MK2 but no longer possible.

Arranger Improvements:

1) I would love to be able to control fade in, fade out, and crossfades at the ranger level.

2) I would like to see waveforms or midi notes rather than blocks as with the Audio plugin for ranger and group level

I understand that these are more of a DAW thing but number one would save me from having to use a(another) DAW.

I would love a more intuitive manner of tracking audio such as guitar or vocals into the arranger, without having to pass by the sampler functions. Have the arranger act more like tracks in a regular daw would be great.

I had this idea a while back, 'when on arranger and you're in patterns, and you hit record- every pattern activated will get recorded and converted into clips.'

basically just rerecording midi straight into clips via patterns, like you would do with groups into patterns.

a faster workflow: now u need several clicks to add a pattern/clip to arranger.

ideally u have your screen divided to drag-n-drop clips from clip launcher to arranger - it will make the arrangement process really fast and intuitive. almost every video editor works this way - so PROs are happy.

Tempo track is sone needed - especially if you work with live musiciand and performances.

Not sure if this suggestion fits best in this thread but it seems the closest to be related: I would love for the ability to hold down the record button on the controller, then when a pad or outside MIDI controller CC is engaged, playback/recording engages.

I really enjoy this workflow on the Teenage Engineering OP-1 Field, it makes hopping back and adding ideas much easier.

It’s slightly time consuming that every time I am recording new instructions to a pattern that most the time I have to go in and quantize my first hit/keystroke, because I can never perfectly land the first hit after my 4 best count-in. Being able to hold record and simply start playing I think would eliminate some clerical work.
