Discord is a mess - I have tried it a couple of times but it drives me up the wall trying to locate anything. I don't really see the attraction.

Sometimes there is the need for slow'ish social interaction, sometimes you want something faster like a chat.

Want to read or write a longer guide on how to connect Traktor with a DAW -> Forum is pretty good.

Want to quickly share a few bars that you made and are looking for immediate feedback while you still are working on it --> chat.

Discord is rather meh when it comes to search and looking up information. You have to know about pins, how to search and some servers use bots to help with that.

I agree with that comment so i vote No.

I don't have Discord account neither i plan to create one. I have accounts for a lifetime (over 150 for sure, i lost counting...). The plan is to get rid as many of them as possible and only rarely add a new one (only if it's absolutely necessary).

Furthermore, Discord somehow reminds me of Twitter, and this is enough reason to hate it. I hate them both (and Twitch too)! 😝

Of course, this is not a reason for you to not create your Discord server.... just saying...

I agreed it can get chaotic if you want to always wanna be on top of everything that's going on in the server. But that same chaotic energy is also the charm of Discord ngl

The platform is just not made for casual, real-time interaction like lord carlos said. Sharing music, playlist, memes and things feels a bit out of place here. We can try of course. How about a meme thread?

It's for slightly different use cases that can overlap a bit.

I'm on a DJ discord and on this forum. They are both useful, each in their own way.

I'm casually chatting with different DJs from around the world. Sometimes it's a lot of .. shitposting. Sometimes it's a discussion about the monopoly of pioneer in the DJ world.

I know. I’m on different discord channels. What I was stating is that since NI is constantly remembering us how their resources are limited, maybe using the few they have to improve the interaction here would be better

Why do those things feel out of place here? Is this site considered primarily as as a community-aided support resource by the decision-makers at NI? Or is the lack of communication tools available in this forum's platform the bigger reason you are proposing Discord?
