Ableton Instrument Rack KK S88 mk1 no longer working with M2 chip
Hi! I have an old S88 Mk1 keyboard which I am trying to get working with my new Macbook Pro (M2) and Ableton Live 11. Worked well on my old macbook pro from 2018 (intel)
I have followed the steps and installed the specific Instrument Rack as described here:
https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406832231441 under the headline: "Ableton Live for KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series MK1"
However, the instrument rack version of the Komplete Kontrol plugin is VST 1, which is not supported anymore, so it just doesn't load in Live anymore.
If I use the Komplete Kontrol VST-3 plugin directly for several different instances, the keyboard looses track of the plugin controls.
Also I am not able to navigate in Live with the arrows on the keyboard.
Any ideas about a solution? Will Native Instruments update the downloadable instrument rack at one point? Strange that they do not say anything about this issue on the mentioned URL?
Kindly
Nikolai

@slojotaa Your MK1 should work on your Mac, you need to install Komplete Kontrol 2.9.6, as explained in the article here: Notes on Ending Software Support for Komplete Kontrol S-Series MK1 Keyboards
And if your Mac is a M1/M2/M3 Mac you will need to run Live in Rosetta mode: How to Open Your DAW Using Rosetta

Out of subject, but try bitwig, ableton will seem so old to you ;)

@Rohrlapper Well, the only solution at the moment would be to use Ableton in Rosetta mode. How to Open Your DAW Using Rosetta

OK. Is this something NI will address or would I need to get a newer keyboard to be able to get it to work with my new mac?

Rohrlapper - I am going through the same damned issue. A perfect S88 Mk1, and since my Mac 2022 build 2022 upgrade to Sanoma, Ableton Live 11, I can't drive the Ableton Live 11. The decision to stop support reached in October 23 by NI is lame, and frankly I have lost interest in them totally as a result...., but am wed to them.
I posted earlier a ?, should I try to make the MK1 work (if it ever will, been at it too long), or sell/repurchase the MK2 or MK3 when it is out in 88 key version?
Good Luck
