Microsoft Defender detects Trojan script on update file of Massive X

Q: don´t see the MassiveX 1.4.3-Update in NA, hast NI taken it down due to this Trojan-thing?

It all started with the Massive X update.
Maybe it's false positive, but since yesterday I can't open Maschine.

Same here !

I’m not even counting on NI to at least give a direct answer to the maaany threads that have been opened here on the forum about the issue. But, you know…”transparency”…

It's still showing here.

I use Malwarebytes Premium and have not seen any warnings. Must be a Defender issue.
Too bad the Massive X setup is over 800 GB, which is too big to upload on VirusTotal. But since it appears to happen with other NI installers too (even old ones that haven't been updated recently like Reaktor 5), I'm quite sure this is just a false positive from Defender.

Same issue for me. But Native Access only says: installation failed. No message from Windows.

Same - and it really pisses me off that there is no way to get Native Instruments to support us on this.
Paying all this money for software which installs a trojan on my computer, and there's not even a contact email or escalation path for us to get any help.
ABSOLUTELY USELESS COMPANY
And this has been going on for weeks.
I am interested to see what the lawyers for Native Instruments will say when they try to defend this in court.

Before shooting at NI take a look at this:
And now start shooting at Microsoft 😜

Same notice. Is there any reply from NI?

Don't be ridiculous - it's obviously a false positive - blame Microsoft for their Defender being over zealous if anything

Check the gazillion other threads on this - yes NI are aware - no it's not their problem, it's Microsoft's Virus programme making an error

I guess the question is whether the file that passed all the tests at virustotal is the same one that Native Instruments is currently trying to install.

It's literally the weekend right now, in case you missed it. Also, NI is already aware of this:
(Post from another thread)
But, you know... people and their inability to use a search feature sometimes.

Microsoft Defender is the default antivirus solution provided for the Windows platform. Yes, Microsoft is responsible for the virus definition / security intelligence updates; However, the onus is on the software developer, NI in this case, to submit false positives for analysis.
NI can submit a file for analysis if these occurrences are indeed incorrectly classified as malware by using this URL: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmission
