How to delete presets after uninstalling plugin??
I had a trial version of the Flanger BL-20 plugin by arturia. The trial was over so I uninstalled the plugin. The presets are still showing up though in the library broswer in maschine. I did a rescan on all the plugins hoping it would see that its gone but they are still showing up. If I select one of the presets the following error dialog is displayed:
Does anybody know how to get rid of the presets for uninstalled plugins so they don't display in the library browser anymore? Thanks!

Ok I copied the komplete.db3 file to a different location and deleted it from the maschine2 folder and restarted and that seemed to do the trick! I've poked around a bit and don't seem to notice anything else that needs addressing, but I'll keep the original file just in case! Thanks to both of you for the help.

They should not. If they do, I think you found a bug.
As a workaround, you could try to make Maschine rebuild its database (not sure if it’s gonna work)
Once you reopen Maschine, it will rebuild its database, maybe noticing the plugin is gone and therefore not listing its presets

Sorry…I gave for granted you are on windows (it’s not written in your profile). If you are on Mac, here is the procedure (with also a second step you could try in case it doesn’t work, deleting plist file)

Select one of the presets, right click on it and it will say show in Finder/Explorer, do that and delete all the presets there, then rescan content

Yeah I tried that and it only opens up a new Finder window with nothing selected. Thanks for the reply though.

Ok so that shows the uninstaller did uninstall the presets but it can’t and shouldn’t reset the Maschine database. Try a rescan to update the database

I've rescanned several times and they're still not going away.

I'm actually on a mac. I tried the 3rd option first by deleting the plist file and that didn't work. I guess I'll just have to live with it for now. I'm not willing to delete the whole machine 2 folder because I have no idea what else I might lose and have to reset up in the process. I appreciate you trying to help though.

Well…in facts it was more “dangerous” deleting the plist, since those are your personal preferences.
Deleting the database should be “safer”, since by opening Maschine it will be created again. But…being precautionary as you, I do understand you hesitating. If you need more reassurance, ask someone from NI what could go wrong by deleting it

No I wouldn't do that either. This really is just a case of the preset entries being in the database even if they are no longer on the system. Often a rescan will work but the other way to reset the database is delete the komplete.db3 file in the user Maschine folder, then it should just be repopulated with actual presets (back it up just in case)

To reinitialize the database, NI itself suggest to delete the folder (see screens above).
It contains only 4 files:
- komplete.db3
- lock.lck (which is 0 kb)
- Plugin.data (also not big, 182 kb)
- UserData.json (1 kb)
Maybe also Plugin.data must be deleted, and that’s why they suggest to delete the whole folder…don’t know
In any case, since it will be deleted anyway, he could try to delete only the .db3 as you suggest. Maybe it’s enough. And if it’s not working, he will still be in time to delete the whole folder as NI suggests

afaik it's komplete.db3 that is the database of NKS presets, plugin.data I guess is the plugin cache, but this is remaining preset entries so I would think it should do, if not then yes delete the whole folder but I would not recommend that as a first step, a more surgical approach is more precise and does less potential damage.

I agree. I found quite strange NI article was suggesting to delete the whole folder

Yeah, also I've seen them recommend deleting favourites.db which imho makes no sense.
