Maschine Plus Ableton 11.1 template

Do I need to sell my Plus and buy an Mk3 to get an official NI controller template for working with Ableton 11.1? I can see hints that such a thing might one day be launched. Aren't the Mk3 (python) scripts basically the same set of instructions you would need to talk to the Plus?

Why not creating your own template for your own workflow/needs?

The template for the MK3 and the M+ would be very similar anyway.

Hopefully not. I think I probably need to clarify which kind of 'template' I am talking about. I am referring to a Maschine plus template of the kind provided by NI on this webpage: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/4413367278097-How-to-Install-MASCHINE-Templates-for-Ableton-Live

In some incarnations also described as midi remote scripts.

Oh I see, we're talking about MIDI scripts. I thought it was just a matter of layout template, like organisation of your MIDI and Audio channels.

I don't know if we plan to release official M+ scripts for Ableton 11, but this is definitely something to ask to the community. I'm sure some power-users out there already figured something out.

Thanks for the clear answer. For me personally the Plus is not really working out. Lack of internal power and a CPU/Ram combination powerful enough to handle modern plugins are my main issues. The zip cord type battery solutions and autosampler are sticking plasters that add barriers to smooth ownership and workflow. An Mk3 and a lightweight laptop fits my needs for portability and power much better. The existence of an official midi remote script is a bonus as I prefer the NI pads to those on the Push2.

@hmanprod Unfortunately, it's not planned in the near future and we won't release the source code but maybe you could ask @Elton Memishaj about his script.

Python can easily be decompiled with uncompile6 for example. That's why all the default scripts that already come with Ableton are always online on GitHub and such, full code exposed. https://github.com/gluon/AbletonLive11_MIDIRemoteScripts

Simply navigate to any folder that has .py files and run this command: for f in *.pyc; do uncompyle6 -o . $f; done
