TBH I would just keep your current mas controller, and pray for any new updates.
The used market for these devices is a joke, and will be even more of a joke when they release something new. Sell your NI gear NOW if you want to see a return of your money.
Like someone said here before vote with your wallet next time. We as consumers can make an impact.
I for one will not be buying anything from NI ever again. I couldn’t imagine spending over 1000$ on a m+. I feel sorry for these people TBH.
What no one has talked about here yet is the pricing for this supposed new mas SW/HW that’s coming? They are going to charge big $$$ for whatever is coming at least 1600$ lol…..
That is a lot of money to spend especially with NI’s track record.
Glad I made the switch to elektron Octatrack mk2.
Maschine is a toy compared to this beast of a sampler.
I will forever keep my Mk3 though, and the maschine 2 software even though with all its short comings for years to come. Will be rocking the Mk3 like Nottz does rocking the Mk1 a decade later making BANGERS…..
The one thing I do appreciate maschine 2 for is how it made me better at chopping drum breaks, and samples altogether. The maschine 2 sw is sooo 2018. I love it still, but it is definitely a hate/love relationship.

It seems when people want something really bad, they tend to see everything as a 'sign' that what they want is about to happen. Be it another HW releasing, silence, or even a troll post on reddit... This is a bit odd to me but hey, I admire the faith.

The thread was appropriately worded to mean exactly what it did. Even if it didn't exist, members continue to post about their preferred view points (tinted or otherwise), guesses and hopes anyway for the product line, just using different thread names or platforms.
Likewise, as OP I chose not to include the name of the reddit member as it was a sharing. It was by choice. No omission here. No need to drag others into a debate when they are not aligned with your view points.

Pretty hard to compare Octatrack to Maschine.
But Octatrack would be dope if it had any sort of polyphony, more than eight tracks, better integration with a computer, a better way to arrange.
Maschine destroys in all these categories.
Maschine hardware feels nicer too.

Once again I don't get why Maschine+ get so much hate.
The unit works well, you can do a lot with it.
Yes it could receive more updates and become the real diamond it could be.
But it's not a total piece of junk like some seem to think here.

I second that. After buying my M+ I also bought the MPC X SE, followed by the standalone Push.
Of the three, the M+ gets used the most. They all have their pros and cons. The con for me on the M+ is not being able to search.

From my point of view the Maschine+ doesn’t get a lot of hate, but the way NI is doing business lately. Overpromise, underdeliver.
Yes, the M+ could make better use of its screens and integration with the software version should be less of hassle. But hey, it seems NI loves useless eye-candy… KK MK3. Personally I also don’t need all kinda VSTs, but some of the Kontakt-based instruments would be nice. But, all this I consider as nice-to-haves and could-be-betters…
Where it sucks (and no, this is not about the M+ itself) is the lack of support and communication from NI.
There are some serious bugs of which we don’t know if they will ever be fixed. Also some half-baked implementations like file storing and handling, especially to external storage and the DAW. With all of this, there’s no sufficient communication from NI… only when there’s something new in store they’re willing to facilitate ‘you can ask me anything’ sessions.
So yes, we can do a lot with the M+. And no, there’s no hate about it. Other than the usual discussions between Akai vs. NI vs. Ableton lovers, Xbox vs. PS vs. PC or Mac vs. Windows, etc. But, that’s is all about preference, which over time could change… for multiple reasons. Lack of support is one of them. So the NI ecosystem including Maschine 4 would be(come) a no-go form me.

I'm with @MaikR on this. It's not perse the M+, or Maschine, from a functional perspective. It's more about how NI treats those platforms as "abandonware", either by design or by accident, not being able or willing to properly maintain these platforms. Which reduces and removes trust from consumers for the company.
Ofcourse, you can approach buying Maschine-devices "as-is", like f.e. a Pioneer SP16, or an older abandoned device. But NI Maschine is competing in a landscape where their closest competitors are actively maintaining and improving their firmware/software on a regular base. That's the real issue.
I mean, for 10+ years, people have been posting suggestions, feature requests, bug reports etc. for Maschine, and for 10+ years NI has been putting up "surveys" to ask what people want. And in the end, nothing happens. I'm wrong: we got clips, a half-baked implementation of a good idea.
It's simply not enough anymore in this age to release, put out a few minor fixes, and abandon the platform until you release the next hardware.

The really big problem for many is not just the glacial rate of 'progress' but the false promises and lack of not just communication but trust.
Whatever anyone says to NI about Maschine, it never really seems to be acknowledged or acted upon.
Personally I am upset about the lack of progress, but I'm absolutely furious about them totally screwing the workflow, readability and speed of Maschine and then not giving a flying swear word about it. How that can be seen as in any way excusable baffles me.
They introduced Jam, mismarketed it and then didn't realise what they had and nuked it, meanwhile directing all resources to Sounds, totally ignoring users dubiousness about it. That went well, didn't it.
Maschine for many is or should be a flagship product that could easily annihilate the competition and be the standard to be judged by, but it seems to be where it currently is in spite of the mess NI have made of it rather than what it could be. Most users are extremely passionate about Maschine, but rather than utilise that passion to develop and enhance the product, NI seem to almost resent it.
No wonder there's a lot of dismay regarding Maschine, but more than anything, for me, the tale of Maschine is heartbreakingly sad.

Yeah, clips has potential but had clunky implementation, I still get frustrated when I accidentally trigger a clip when I intended on a scene or pattern.

Although if a unit was sent to a synth YouTuber, the product would be out of the development stage, and the release date already decided and near. That would be a marketing step after all.
But yeah, I also take a random reddit post like this with a grain of salt. I also can't imagine NI making investments into developing a full DAW.
I definitely cannot see it being called MataDAW. Mata being Spanish for "kill" and the name loosely translating into DAW killer/DAW swatter (fly swatter being matamoscas).

A killer DAW.
That would actually be a cool name, and a bold statement. But I doubt that this would be a good marketing move for a big player in today’s world of political correctness quarrels. I miss the days when NI came up with industrial sounding German product names like Reaktor, Traktor, Machine and Komplete.
