I always guessed what you mean by “unfollow post”. Cause the only thing I know that can be followed are categories (and also these can be unfollowed). Posts can be bookmarked (and un-bookmarked). And in your account “Edit Profile” you can also tell it what you want to be warned of (with notifications, emails,…) and what not.
If you show me what you mean (and show me where you followed posts) maybe I can help you, since I don’t have these kind of problems. Or learn something new I don’t know ☺️

Maybe he means notifications when someone quotes or mentions you?

I don’t know. I’ve seen him ansking about “unfollow posts” many times. And never understood what he meant ☺️
In any case also those quotation notifications can be removed in “Edit Profile” (I think, from the options there…never tried to remove them)

I've also never heard of companies using Discord to send threats to people. I guess it depends on youset up your level of moderation over there

Nah. what can be said here can be said on Discord, or anywhere really. Look at our social, we don't censor anything there either.

Yes and every 2 weeks give us free sample packs.

Well who else but me, more mods and more volunteers 😄 I used to mod Discord before and yeah you definitely need someone on a different time zone to keep an eye on things

No we wouldn't throw out this place and "move" there. But you have a good point about the fact that the conversations are not indexed on Google.

Yes the forum will be kept alive of course. I just see it as another potential channel for people who don't hang out here, and prefer Discord.

We're not closing this forum! And yeah I do like the freestyle reacts/roles Discord offers.

I vote yes. I really don't understand all these alarming apocalyptic concerns about a simple Discord server... It's not that deep.
I'd say don't get your hopes up that this would ever be a place to ask @NI employees or devs about random things, they would prob get bombarded with silliness tbh, so if it happens it's mostly for the users to talk to each other.
Personally, I use Discord for a few of my hobbies semi-often. I find it very useful to get help about something I am learning or just engage with people with the same interests, one of the servers I hang out in has weekly beat battles amongst other music-related stuff and I've even met people from there in real life and got to know local artists that I been following for decades a bit better virtually... If I am ever in their area I'll surely send a PM and maybe hang out, this kind of 'friendship' building is really hard on a forum. In the world of social media based on shallow stuff like Instagram which is almost all about appearances I quite like Discord as an alternative.
The fact that you can have conversations in real-time without completely taking over a forum thread is cool to me, it's kind of hard to have back-and-forth open conversations here without taking over threads, I don't see Discord as a replacement for a forum tho, the 2 can coexist just fine.
The con is Discord can be very messy, each server is built however the admin see's fit, some servers I try and leave immediately due to having too many or to few channels, being too loose with rules or unmoderated, etc... So finding the right servers is crucial as it completely changes the experience, some servers get really childish and toxic while others have really cool positive communities ready to help each other.
Unlike here changes would probably be much easier to make and don't require approval from web teams, IT security shenanigans, etc.. So, a potential NI Discord server could more easily grow to be what it's userbase wants it to be and kind of self-regulate.... if it all goes well of course.
With the insane amount of users NI has making a fun and positive Server would be quite a challenge tho

Yes this is what i mean, to stop having notifications on specific posts. It is really simple (like they have on Facebook or many other sites, and also existed in the old forums), one button next to bookmark, "unfollow" or something similar...

I asked for this as soon as the forum started, this provider does not have that feature - When that's the case there's nothing we can do.
