Traktor s3 bad sound

Traktor s3 in traktor pro 3 sounds worse than a similar track from an iPhone. Picks up high and medium tones on the main output and in headphones. What could be the problem ? Win 11.

It feels like the equalizer is turned on on the master, but all settings are reset to default.

Hey all, sorry for the trouble here. We're aware of this and a firmware update that addresses issues with the Master Out of the S3 is in the works.

In the meantime, please use the power supply and optimise the gain stage of your setup: Digital DJing and Sound Quality - Handling Levels in TRAKTOR This should significantly improve the output.

Please use ASIO driver, not WASAPI, it is a huge difference!

Apologies to burst your bubble, NI is not planning on further investigating this unit nor any other issues concerning the fellow DJ's, browsing for tracks now is even worse off that it's AGAIN skipping multiple tracks........They are more focused on this Pattern Player than anything else.

Sorry, did not scroll down. My reference was the S4mk3 and thought the S3 would be similar.

The S3 ASIO driver should be in Traktor Pro 3 directory on your computer, but it is not for some reason.

Try ASIO 4 ALL as a work around.

Note: S3 MK3, for unknown reasons, does not have a separate ASIO setup, so, it should be use the same driver as S2 MK3

Ok, that's bad. You should uninstall that driver and contact the support team to ask why they are not providing one!

Meanwhile you can install the ASIO4All driver (mentioned above by Stevan), or stuck with the WASAPI driver.

This is really strange, every device has it's ASIO drivers,,,

Note: If you go back to WASAPI remember to increase the buffer size! In your first image it says 309 (overall 12.8 ms). Increase it until you go to about 20 ms, you will have better results.

On the right, the track through the iPhone connected with a wire to the tractor, on the left, the same track from the tractor deck, on the equalizer, approximately equalized the sound frequencies, otherwise it would be about the same.

Buffer size is not affected.

Yoh, guys, I just used my S3 now tonight again for the 1st time, went to the 1 club 1st, Spend literally a full 30min diagnosing why I was not getting any output, nothing wrong with my audio cables, I ended up telling the owner I cannot play due to hardware faults, the next DJ came to play, I EVENTUALLY got audio out, but very very low....

I am now at the 2nd club, all of a sudden I am getting audio but it is bad bad bad.

The DJ after me came to setup using his laptop, the audio from his laptop is amazing, 3x louder than from my s3.

I am so over NI not trying to assist & have the volume output increased.

I'll rather continue using my Roland DJ-505 & Serato. I have never been more satisfied with Serato than Traktor lately.

I just lost out on getting paid & never NEVER had such a problem before than tonight & running the latest RC 3.9

I understand your frustration.

As a temporary solution (too late now i guess), you could use your computer audio card for audio and use your S3 as a controller only.

That I had also done but absolutely nothing worked.

I have never ever encountered anything like what I encountered tonight.

Not sure if it's the RC update or what. NI is cleared minded about only focused on this damn pattern player

There is a major browser issue

There is an audio issue with DJ controllers

There is a major major issue with the flickering browser

I have now encountered an issue with track loading (program freezes for a brief moment with every single track being loaded)

I don't know nor understand what NI is up to. But hey, it's their software that becomes our problem & they are Relaxed.

Anyway not my place to voice concerns regarding the Dec soft of anything els for that matter
