Accessing Arp's, scales, chords etc.. from a keyboard

Many..many years ago when I was running Maschine 1 (possibly maschine 2..early versions). I recall being able to use the scale, chords and arp modes through the maschine software but on my USB midi keyboard and not only on my maschine controller.

Am I missing something here, right now it seems that the only way I can access these modes is via the pads on my actual maschine units themselves? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I started with maschine 2. It's never been an option. You can use scales in Komplete Kontrol with your non-NI midi keyboard. The stuff built into maschine is only for the maschine hardware.

Do these work if one is using a Komplete S series keyboard though? I thought they did, and it's one reason why I have been considering maybe getting one now that they are discounted by 200€..

I think they are also compatible. You need to download a manual for A series and check, I guess.

Ok, I’ve just checked in both manuals (KK S Mk2 and KK A series). It’s called “advanced integration” and there’s Maschine 2 section with all functions listed. So yes to both.

That's actually good to know! A49 has a leg up over the competition with M+ when it comes to using the chords, arps etc and is similarly priced than the alternatives 👍
