s4mk3 - s8 - no loop recording function?
Aloha - I am thinking of upgrading from the s4mk2. I don't see the loop recording feature on the newer s4mk3 or on the s8 ? Is that correct or am I missing something? I use it to record vocals then drop them on the F1 thanks!

Unfortunately, that is correct. They have many great features, but the Loop Recorder isn’t one of them.
However, they can be added through the controller manager and assigned to whatever button you want to :)

You can check my mapping for S4 mk3 here: https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/9325
It supports Loop Recorder functions via the Shift layer.

I know some people don't like to use the keyboard, but I have a few very fast things mapped to my keyboard. The loop recorder would be an easy one to map.
And the visual of the loop recorder would be on the screen.

Thanks guys - super helpful! On a side note - anyone use the F1 with Ableton as a midi controller for drum pads?

That should be fairly easy, got any questions?

Can you show me please how to map the loop recorder on the keyboard with the visual?
And also, How can I move the samples I record into the remix decks. I am building a live djing act and I need to add my voice to the tracks and manipulate them.
Thanks

The standard keyboard mapping provided by NI already has the loop recorder mapped. Open it in the controller manager and have a look. It should be bound to the RETURN key and thereabouts (using lots of SHIFT and CTRL modifiers).
To move a sample from the loop recorder you either drag it from the loop recorder to the sample cell with a mouse (loop recorder must be visible for that), or you set the source in the remix deck and use a remix deck command to 'load from source', forgot the exact name of the assignment. An F1 provides both commands.
