Kontakt 7 Factory Library’s Jazz Guitar (in the Band group) seems to have bad samples.
Pressing keys in the lower 2 octaves (C1 - A2) produces the expected guitar notes. But higher keys (Bb3 - C5) play harsh, high pitched percussive sounds.
This a sample set from a different era, unless they changed it.
Check for a distortion in the effects page or a filter/EQ/effect that can be disabled.
Thanks - I increased the minimum velocity from 1 to 64 and turned down the noise to get tones that are more preferable to me.
That was my first thought, but your description sounded way worse.
The 'Noise' parameter is a nifty idea that I always end up turning down or off. It can always be automated for that one bar where its needed.
Velocity is the biggest factor. At low velocities the instrument emulates : mute, pluck at the bridge, harmonics, slap, etc.
Guess it is a new library. Seems lke all articulations are active. No keyswitches or menu to select which articulation is active?
No keyswitches and I don't see a menu:
Those are release triggered noises, they are there by design. Bring the Noise knob down to reduce the volume of these.
We already covered that in comments 2-4. We were just discussing the possibility that the developers may have added keyswitches for these different sounds that he describes as 'pluck at the bridge' and 'slap'.
