Glitches and pops: Issues with my new Maschine+

Hello Everyone, I just purchased a Maschine+. I am having issues with glitches, pops and cracks when I play pads and durring playback. I have been able to get rid of this by restarting the unit but then it will be back the next time. One time when I pressed play it was almost nothing but glitches. This is a very simple project as I am just getting started. Only a couple groups. Also it seems like it takes very little to get the CPU close to the maximum.

Could someone please help me? When the unit is making clear sound it is amazing. When it is making the crackling sound it isn't usable. I need to feel like the sound quality is dependable before I could add this equipment into my overall setup.

Thanks!!

hey. First of all, see if you can update your unit by going to settings and look where you can upgrade your stuff.

either way, a fix for the crackles is that you go to settings/audio, and twist the first knob to “reset” the audio settings.

Hi @cKammerer can you check your CPU when the glitches occur? Is it anywhere near 100 or..?

Thank you both for your replies.

@djadidai I did not find the location under settings/audio to reset the audio setting.

@Kaiwan_NI yes the CPU usage seems high to me. Its as if it doesn't take a lot on my unit to really get the CPU usage to spike. On the example project I will outline below the CPU sets at 78% as soon as I load it (without pressing play) and it never goes below that amount. Below I will try to outline exactly what I have loaded in each group and plugins. I'm sorry, I don't know how to go back and find these sounds/instruments by name to be able to tell you exactly where they came from.

Group A is called "Monk Voice"

Group B is the "Absolutely Kit".... has "Grain Delay and Limiter" on the group channel

Group C is called "Amsterdamned" .... has "Raum" on the group channel

    Group D is "Aero Dub"

    Group E is "Asian Woods"

The Master channel has Raum applied.

The whole project consists of one four bar loop. Nothing complex.

    Thanks again for your help!!!

Not sure which expansion it's from, but I have one called "Absolutely Kit". It has a silly amount of effects on the individual sounds. At least 10 reverbs across all of the different sounds.

This will always be an issue with expansions. They were built before M+ was even a thing. My desktop wouldn't blink at that kit, but it takes 25% of the CPU from M+. Use the expansions if you want; but go through and delete sounds you're not using and try to clean up the effects a bit. If you really can't do without having 10 reverbs in a group, then M+ may not be the right tool.

Hi there, My brand new Maschine+ was like this. I did a reset, twiddled the "interface" knob on the Settings < Audio page to reset the sound card, did a system reset (hold the Shift key on the System page to get the Reset option) and formatted my SD Card. I think it was formatting the SD card that fixed it in the end. Its working perfectly now :-)

Can @Jeremy_NI pls have a look and determine if this is a known M+ issue?

@cKammerer There are known M+ CPU issues. In the 6 groups chosen there are already a lot of effects, some Massive presets can also bring a lot of CPU stress. I would suggest to wait for the next M+ update that should be coming really soon, this update should bring some improvements on this topic. Then if that doesn't improve, try what @NathanD mentioned and if needed we'll put you in touch with one of our Maschine Plus specialists.

Thanks everyone for your input! I will wait for the update. I have been able to create some new projects without the audio glitches present, so I am learning and having fun. Amazing equipment other than this issue.

Hey @cKammerer just a heads up that a new version of Maschine+ is now available. Can you update your Maschine+ and let us know if it helps with the audio glitches?

@Kaiwan_NI I just purchased a Maschine+ and have been getting a lot of glitches and pops when trying to trigger a sample and then another after. It also happens if I hit the same pad twice in a row. It says there aren't any updates on the actual Maschine and I am at 1.4.0.3 and Firmware 0.1.6. My CPU usage would be at 10 - 35% for this.

I have also noticed the same things happening if my CPU is at 75% with my patterns playing. I appreciate any help that you guys can throw my way!

I was able to find and download the Firmware. Definitely not exactly the most obvious thing to figure out haha. I plan on getting a better SD card as well, hopefully, that will help with what little audio distortion I have been getting since then (the firmware helped significantly).

Aside from that, I love this thing. Hoping we may be able to get a bit more of Komplete in there too.
