After update, Massive X PM seems to be broken.

The pm knob produces artefacts and stepping that were not in previous versions.
If i assign a macro or enveloppe, it works, but i'm pretty sure we could simply dial in the pm amount without these broken sounds in the previous versions…

(Oh and pitch is broken too, no more inter semitone tunings :( )
I'll revert. Was happy to see an update, but its a bit broken for now…

Thanks for the report. As for pitch automation, we have identified a bug and a fix for it will be shipped soon.

Can you please give us a few more details on your setup and so we can reproduce what you are seeing?
For example:
- what DAW are you using
- what plugin format (e.g. VST3/AU etc)
- are you hosting Massive X in Maschine or Komplete Kontrol
- are you using an NKS2 controller

Do the issues you describe relate only to automation of these parameters or do they sound the same when you drag the knob? If with automation, are you recording with touch/latch and is it possible that there is automation already recorded in the lane?

What was the previous version of Massive X you had where you didn't gave these issues?

Thanks for the reply, i see; i use that pitch intervals quite a lot as they create interesting in beetween scales and harmonies, and of course some detuning.
So i need to revert to 1.6.1 for now but good to know it will be fixed.

In addition to the picture posted above:

Ableton live 12, windows 11 64bits
Vst3 no kompete kontrol or anything like this.

The issue happens in typical use case: insert the plugin, init a patch, no automation or assignments yet, use mouse to move parameters etc to create a patch while noodling some melodies.
To use pm knob, i enable pm1 button on osc1, or use the pm insert (a,b,c slots) cf image above.
Use a sinewave as main carrier for better "results", and hear these weird glitches and artifacts better.
There are not present in 1.6.1.

Then, play a note or melody, and when turning FM/pm knobs with the mouse, it creates strong stepping glitchy noises, artifacts etc that make it difficult to dial the precise sound i want, it's not "smooth" for lack of better words as it was in previous version.

As soon as i assign any automation or a control (macro knobs/env/performer/ even outside automation) to these pm knob(s) the issue disappears entirely and the sound variation is back to smooth, whether i automate turn the the macro knob, or the pm knob with mouse or other means.
So in a way it works, just the very vanilla basic function that i assume many people use when starting to create a patch and havent set macro, automations etc yet, is broken.

Hello, popping in to report that detune is indeed broken in 1.7.0 VST3m at least in Cubase.

I'm running the 64 bit VST3, Cubase 14, Arturia Keylab Essential 61 MK3, Windows 10.

To reproduce:

1. Create an empty project in Cubase 14 with a single track of Massive X.

2. Choose the "Abrasive" preset.

3. Play some notes or record a midi part.

4. Save and close the project.

5. Reopen the project, play the track. It sounds awful.

I have attached the test project that I made to test this. It is completely reproducible every time on my rig.

We have just released Massive X 1.7.1. Could you check if this fixes your issues?

FIXED:
- Pitch parameter automation only worked in semitones, not cents
- PM parameter automation not smooth
- Different scaling for some parameters between Ul and automation
