2nd hand unit from CEX is transfer easy ?

Hi all, yesterday I purchased a maschine mk3 from CEX (2nd hand)

the unit is registered to the previous owner and obviously I have no way to contact them.

I have read from multiple forums that NI will deactivate the unit from the previous owner and allow it to be activated in my name allowing the relevant software to be downloaded.

is this correct, had anybody had success with this? I have created a ticket with NI, just waiting for a response.

Yes ,NI Support can help getting the hardware transferred provided that the previous owner is not in a position where they can and/or will object (a question of actual device provenance which NI Support will look into).

It's a quite common scenario that someone buys something secondhand and needs it transferred to their NI account and from what I have seen then it looks as if most likely then in the majority of cases then NI Support are able to help.
