Maschine MK3 hard/software prerequisites ? Please help

Let me introduce myself. Im Steph from Scotland

I have just bought the maschine mk3 for my boyfriends christmas, but i am so lost in what i need to get next. I am not really a computer person

We have the below laptop at home

ACER Aspire 3 17.3" Laptop - Intel® Core™ i3, 256 GB SSD, Silver

Will this laptop work with the software? Also what software do i need for this?

Also if i buy the software how does this work as a pressie?

The software is included with the Maschine, so you don't need to buy it.

However, going by the required system specs HERE that laptop may be a little underpowered.

You can always try it and see how it performs, but it's below the recommended spec.

Thank you so much for help. Feel really daft for not knowing.

Sorry last question. I may try get an upgraded laptop then too. Have you any advise on what to get. Again i am dumb to this. Was never brought up with computers.

My advice would be to get something better than what's suggested, such as a Core Ultra 7 CPU and 16GB (or more) of RAM, with the biggest internal drive you can find, for storing samples and plugins.

Some laptops have space for a second internal drive, allowing for the operating system to reside on one, using the second for sound libraries.
