What’s New – Maschine 3.3.1 on Maschine+

Maschine+ just leveled up. The latest 3.3.1 update brings the power of the Maschine 3 desktop engine to your standalone hardware; unlocking a unified creative platform, improved performance, and smarter workflows built for the future.

Unified Maschine Engine

Maschine+ now runs the Maschine 3.3.1 engine, the same software as the desktop version. That means:

Shared feature sets with desktop
A future-ready foundation for modern workflows and content
A consistent creative experience, whether you’re working on your laptop or standalone

Bounce In Place – CPU-Saving Workflow

Render heavy plugins to audio directly on-device, save CPU while retaining creative flexibility.

Bounce individual plugin sounds or full groups.
Kontakt 8 / Play Series compatibility, coming soon

Bass Synth Gets an Upgrade (for standalone and software users)

Maschine’s built-in Bass Synth refined:

New second oscillator for richer tones
Detune & mix controls for layered textures
Glide toggle is now available directly in the Mixer UI

Custom Chords in standalone mode

Create your own chord sets without being connected to a computer
Move your custom chord set to and from Maschine 3 desktop and Maschine+

Custom tempo per scene

Now it is easier than ever to set up complex song transitions with a different tempo in each scene

Kontrol MK3 & Massive NKS2 Support

Maschine+ now fully supports the Kontrol S-Series MK3, and NKS2 with Massive, giving deeper parameter control of Massive on both Maschine+ & Kontrol S-Series MK3 devices.

Expanded File Format Support

Import or export in more formats with Maschine+:

Import: MP3, MP4, FLAC, OGG
Export: MP3 now supported for the first time

Accessibility Improvements (New NI Accessibility Helper)

The NI Accessibility Helper has been updated to provide a smoother, more integrated experience for visually impaired users (For Maschine+ in Controller mode and Maschine MK3):

Runs automatically in the system tray — no need to launch separately
Automatic hardware detection — just plug in and go
Simplified user flow: Toggle accessibility voice overs on / off directly from the hardware
Still supports all key features like zone navigation, voice feedback, and Tour Mode

Better Performance, Lower CPU

You’ll notice faster parameter updates and smoother performance — especially when connected with Kontrol MK3.

Ableton Link over USB

Your Maschine+ in standalone mode can now connect to your Ableton link setup without the need for WIFI

Not Included: Stem Separation

While it’s high on our list, Stem Separation isn’t included in this release.

How to get started

Maschine 3 License Required
To activate new features, ensure you own a valid Maschine 3 license. Get your copy here.

Update Your Device
On Maschine+, go to Settings > System, then follow the prompts to install:
- Native OS 2.0.0
- Maschine Software 3.3.1

You will need to register your device again as you need a new activation for Maschine 3

This is just a highlight of new features, I guess full change-log will eventually be here.

It should contain all bugfixes from the skipped versions that happened on the desktop 3, 3.0.1, 3.1, 3.2 etc…. At least the one that are relevant to standalone + some exclusive standalone fixes too. Probably a big list.

Yes, you can't upgrade to Maschine 3 unless you buy an an upgrade to Maschine 3.

it was my understanding that there was a firmware update for maschine+ standalone users happening. i don’t use the computer software. will there be an update to the m+ firmware in the future or will 1.6 be the max without purchasing software?

It's quite confusing… Here in this thread I interpret that every M+ users get it's for free at least for the Standalone excluding the computer version.

But then in this support article it mentions that if you bought/registered the M+ after November 6th, 2024 you get V3 for free but does not especify if it's just for standalone or for also the desktop.

Have you just checked the update section in the M+ to verify if it shows up or not?

Fun fact: Native Instruments' newest forum update allows you to view who downvoted your comments, and I had a sneaking suspicion that I knew who was going around and downvoting even the most reasonable comments that I'd made here…and lo & behold! It was just about always PK the DJ. I see him posting contrarian, derisive, or condescending comments on almost every thread containing a modicum of criticism or confusion at NI's policies or products. If you think something should be a certain way, he'll swoop in & give you a nonsensical reason as to why you're actually wrong. If you out-maneuver him or prove him wrong, he will literally never admit it and continue to claim that things are actually the opposite of whatever it was you'd said. It's best to ignore him. Pic related as proof. I went through all of my down voted comments, and just about every one I could find, he was included on the "vote down" list.

Better to ignore that kind of b s, it tends to start downvote wars, go to user profile press the icon next to message and select 'ignore user'. Theres no point in interacting with someone if you sure it will never lead to anything positive, you will just annoy each other over and over.

Yeah, I just hit the ignore on their profile. I just wanted to know if i needed to buy software thar I don’t use, or to wait for the standalone firmware. It’s not in my update section and I’ve had the M+ for a few years.

What, so stating the facts is being a jerk now? 🤔

Jeremy from NI clearly stated in his announcement post that you need a Maschine 3 license to use the new update to the Maschine+ (which is effectively Maschine 3 for standalone).

It was the same when NI added some effects plugins to the Plus recently. You need a license for the desktop versions in order to use them standalone.

I think what Jeremy meant in the thread D-One linked above, is that the M+ update will not have an additional cost for those who've already upgraded to Maschine 3 desktop (i.e. the license covers both).

Although I do agree that probably what they meant with “free update for M+ users” is that no ulterior fees are added to have it ALSO on M+ (and therefore you must have it licensed for desktop)… and in case you will buy it to have it on your M+…

I just wanted to specify (if you don’t already know it) that the update will be made in Settings/System. Updating M+ System to 2.0.0 will also install Maschine 3.

I often see “update section” nominated… which could be confusing, since all other updates of installed things are made in Library (which contains an “updates section”)

No @LostInFoundation you've completely got the wrong end of the stick. This forum exists for users to help other users. That's why it's linked from Support on the main site, and it specifically states it's for "finding a solution for problems" and "helping each other". That's why I'm here.

IMO a lot of the posts on here are about learning/teaching/educating. Ditto with many videos on YouTube, showing people how to do things. Are you saying that's a bad thing?

If I know the subject matter, I'll respond. If it's not something I know, I won't. I'm learning stuff myself every day, from others posts on here and elsewhere on the internet.

Unlike certain others I could name, I don't just post negative comments about NI or their products, and I most certainly do NOT think I'm "superior".

I'm not the one calling people names.
