Maschine 2 Re-scans SOME plugins?
I know there are a few threads about the slow start-up and plugin scanning from Maschine. My case is a little bit different and I'm wondering if others had this issue:
When I install a new plugin, typically Maschine detects the new plugin and does a startup scan. From that point on the plugin seems to be "registered" and is bypassed in future startup scans, ensuring the startup is relatively short.
Lately though, I've installed a few plugins (notably the NI effects plugins like Varicomp etc) and THOSE get scanned EVERY time I open maschine.
I've done a full rescan and that took close to 15 minutes, so this is definitely not a case of Maschine scanning all plugins every time - it's just that a few new ones are not getting "registered" as scanned, though they ARE showing up in my list of Plugins.
So I'm confused. Any thoughts?

I’m not aware of any “registered as scanned” thing in Maschine

Well, it's not like there would be a UI element for that, but it's clearly a thing, because when you click Rescan under plugins, that scan can take upwards of 10+ minutes, whereas I very much doubt that everyone is experiencing 10+ minute launch times for their Maschine software every time, right?
But when you install a new plugin, you'll see it get scanned the first time by Maschine, but then (when things are working correctly), not get scanned again subsequently.
So there's clearly some kind of "registry" - whether that's handled directly in Maschine, or in the ScanTool.
And herein is my current problem - I've installed a few new plugins and they are constantly getting re-scanned when I launch Maschine, although my previous plugins are not being re-scanned.
I'm also experiencing an NTK Daemon issue and can no longer launch Native Access. Once I've worked that out with support, I wonder if it will have any kind of impact on startup scanning.

I have the same issue with maschine 2 rescanning Roland zenology vst3 every time it starts. Every other plugin is ignored once it's been scanned. It slows down the launch time significantly and is quite annoying. Already tried deleting and reinstalling the plugin but it didn't change anything.

This is a common behavior, assuming that it only lasts few seconds. The same thing happens in Cubase 14, Magix SoundForge Pro (btw, this one has the worst scanner ever), to name just a few, and more.
However on Maschine 3 i do not have such issue. It opens instantly, unless a new plugin is added.
One reason that this is happening is, that there are .dll files in the VST3 folder. A good example of this is iZotope. However, for NI plugins (such as the mentioned Varicomp) i never had this behavior.
I can only suggest to check your VST3 folder to see if somehow there are VST2 .dll's there. If so, then move them to another folder (or delete them if you do not use VST2 at all).
And in that case (if you do not use any VST2) i strongly suggest to turn off this option in Maschine preferences. Also, make sure that the first option (always use latest version of NI) is always enabled.

If it happens only on this plugin, then clearly is a Roland issue.

@Sunborn thanks for your comments!
The VST2 plugin options must be a Maschine 3 thing:
You can see I've disabled all AU dupes, and I've removed any vst2 plugins, but the issue persists.
Something is definitely up - the only plugins that it's re-scanning are those I've installed in the last 2 weeks. I'm sure there's a cache file somewhere, perhaps used by the ScanApp - that is no longer getting updated. Maybe a read/write issue, who knows?
If anyone knows the location of the ScanApp cache file I will try deleting it and then re-generating it using the Rescan option in Maschine, or Komplete Kontrol standalone or something.

So, maybe its a Mac OS / AU thing… as i said in Windows, Maschine 3 loads instantly (2-3 seconds to fully open and about 400 plugins -no re-scans until new plugin added).
Note: De-selecting a plugin does not means that it is not scanned. It means that it is not loaded (afterwards).

I would be inclined to agree with you except both Ableton and Cubase don't behave the same way when scanning for the Roland vst .dll's. Clearly this would indicate that only maschine 2 has an issue constantly scanning that particular plugin.
