Installed Libraries on new PC and everything installed except for previews - any help?

New install on windows machine. Sound libraries are installed on external drive. All the things in my library that I installed from Native Access installed just fine including 3rd party instruments. The only thing that doesn't install is previews. The app says 'Installing' but nothing happens. It says the directory path that I installed everything else to is invalid if I click on locate. I still have access to a number of previews anyway even though I;ve deleted that Previews folder that was created and the contents (maybe 350 previews that somehow were there)

My questions are:

-Does this slow my rig down not having previews installed or likely speed it up?

-How do I install previews if I wish to?

-Does it try and install previews for things in my library that I haven't even downloaded?

-How do I get Native Access to shut up and no keep trying to install previews?

This is goofy..Thanks for any help

Previews for what exactly? NKS previews?

The previews package I am thinking of should install normally based on your file folder defaults listed under Preferences.

A screencap of any errors and what you see in Native Access would be helpful.

    Little update on this issue:

First check this article: Native Access Is Stuck on Installing Previews

Then if Native Access is still stuck, please carry out the following workaround:

    1.  Quit Native Access and restart your computer (this is really important)
    2. Run the Previews installer directly via the following link, and make sure to select a short installation path.
    3. Restart Native Access

(Download could possibly be outdated ?)

-It depends on what you consider a “slow down”: Previews (as the name implies) is for having previews on some older NI libraries that were released without that feature (having a preview sound when scrolling in the browser). If that doesn’t matter to you, no, you won’t notice any other inconvenience. If having to every time load those libraries before knowing how they sound means something to you… then yeah… that would slow you down, even a lot (specially in the sound selection phase… once the library is loaded nothing changes)

-We don’t know what you downloaded, so we can’t answer. As said, Previews is for older libraries… but if you use things like Alicia’s Keys or Scarbee or The Maverick, The Grandeur, George Duke Soul Treasure,… The libraries needing it are quite a lot. I would say more than half of NI libraries require it. If I recall correctly, Previews has been released around 2017-2018, so everything prior to that year requires Previews

-What do you mean by “shut up and not keep trying to install”? Every time you open NA it tries to automatically download Previews? Or even to install it? (In the latter case, if it’s only the install part, maybe you could try to check if a (maybe corrupted) file remained in the folder where NA downloads things…and in that case, delete it… thing I suggest you to do even if you want to try again to install it, since sometimes leftover corrupted files give issues even trying to redownload something)

I am not sure if the following information will help on Windows platform as they help with similar issue on macOS platform:

    — first-time installation of NI Previews is installed in this folder named "NBPL"

    — however, when you move this folder elsewhere and use Native Access relocate feature to point to the new location, you need to rename this folder from "NBPL" to "Previews" in order to avoid the invalid location error message

    — this same issue also affects Maschine 2 full factory library—you need to rename "Maschine 2 Library" folder to "Maschine 2 Factory Library" when the folder is relocated

    — if you have not noticed it, Native Access uses the product title in its library browser and append " Library" to the title to access the product files within the main content location in its code
