Webshop orders did not work anymore with Edge, why?

I wanted to buy scene nightshade but each try to get it in the basket showed an error "Ooops something went wrong". The same with the 5 for 55 extensions. Some work, some don't. I cleaned the cache but that doesn't work. I had to install chrome to get the order done. It always worked with edge. I always had a lot of problems with NI products, a lot of instable Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol things over the years. But now the webshop? really?

If you're logged into your NI account on the browser try signing out of the account then signing in again. I had the same problem a while back and logging in and out fixed it. Might have been a different problem, but worth a try!

had to install chrome to get the order done. It always worked with edge.

Actually then neither IE 11 or Edge were ever that good browsers while at the same time having built in technologies that meant that, at least out of the box, that at least at some point then no other browsers would work for a select few things/sites. (I am merely informing and I am not going to take a discussion about it nor am I going to explain further).

For years I have used other browsers than IE11 and Edge for most everything because that was the only way to get stable performance and the least problems on the majority of websites I have used. Hence my list of browsers in the section "Website functionality" on the Please read : how to get support ! page.

I know that the question of internet browsers is like a religion to some people, as is Microsoft products to some, but the question about browsers and browser technology is decades old (can you say NetScape ? )(Quote Wikipedia : Netscape web browser was once dominant but lost to Internet Explorer and other competitors in the first browser war). This is all a much much wider discussion than most people think including a political one , so really a waste of time discussing and nothing that we are allowed to, or even should, discuss here.

If the browser that you prefer does not work with the site(s) that you visit then you also have the option to ask the maker of the browser to provide site/tech compatibility. Previously then you could see that the odd site advertised that their site were designed to be used with a specific browser or that a specific browser were recommended to get the best site experience (for the site to work properly ?), but you only rarely see such declarations these days. In principle of course it would be nice if it were always saying that this or that site were certified to be working with this or that browser. But all these questions have also become far more difficult with the increased demand for and use of 'privacy settings' and then on top of that add the many plugins that people now can add to browsers and the many programming languages and technologies used for web programming.

Edge works perfectly here on every machine every time with every purchase from any vendor. And has since I moved to it permanently in April 2021.

If a user has buried themselves under questionable extensions or other cruft - all sorts of issues are possible in any browser.

I have just 4 extensions. No issues

Thank you for your long but useless answer. The problem was, as i described it, that the combination of edge and the NI always worked and suddenly not. I cannot see in such problems if the webshop has a problem or the browser. The help description of NI was useless and did not help except to install another browser. As i want to keep the music computer clean as possible from "not music" software it is nothing i like to do to install another browser, if the one that came with windows always worked. Meanwhile it works with edge again. I do not know why. I haven't done anything. As there is no option to contact NI support direct i had to try this question here.
The strange thing was, that i could select some NI extensiones for the basket , some not.
I have 131 expansions and 446 items installed using native access. It always worked for me, suddenly not. Ok microsoft could have made a change with updates. Nobody knows. I am in the IT-Business for more than 30 Years and i tried a couple of things before i started this here. The answers here are nearly all completly useless. Sorry guys.

I hope you're not one of my former or current employees. Over my career, I've had dozens of employees with widely-varied backgrounds ranging from server OS to server security, auditing skills, high skills in reading memory dumps raw, debugging disk and array problems, addressing database outages, and much much more.

To a person, all of them were more gracious and kind than your comment above, and that includes the very few who weren't particularly eligible for high marks on their performance reviews, as well as those whom I had to lay off over the years.

I say that because it gives background to this statement —> I don't care if you have 30 years of "IT experience" or 30 minutes, my professional advice to anybody with your attitude is that there's a real possibility that you might not be well-suited for the work, especially since IT work will always require kindness, understanding, and graciousness at times when you work with people. And you will always have to work with people.

Let's set the record straight. People like @PoorFellow , along with @mykejb and many others, don't even work for Native Instruments. They are busy professionals themselves, and they, along with most of us here, are from different countries, and maybe even speak different languages in our everyday lives. I don't care how much IT experience you have. It may help when debugging or working an issue, but it's not a superhero costume and it doesn't make you a member of some elite class here.

    Welcome to the hoi polloi.

We come here with a "can do" spirit of wanting to help fellow users. The NI people just can't do it all by themselves, so the community helps them.

We all help each other, or it doesn't work for anybody.

Bringing a terrible and rude attitude won't help you; it'll just get you ignored. We are all populare here; roughly equivalent to the common person in the Roman Republic. Basically, we're all IT people here, to a lesser or greater degree.

    =============================

Shall we try again? What is the problem you're having? What specific things have you done to try to diagnose or fix it? Your original post only says you did "a couple of things". Surely as an IT professional, you can certainly understand that we would want to know what those "couple of things" were.

Looking forward to resetting our conversation here so that maybe we can provide help.

If you don't want our help, that's okay; we won't be offended. Just please open a ticket with NI support, and let us focus on helping somebody else.
