    do you remember a while back when I said my tempo faders didn't reset anymore? everything was working perfect and all of a sudden after an update the tempo faders would reset back to where the nob was if you just nudged them. we couldn't figure it out and then I found out it was because of the color change in the decks. if you change the colors you have to use the shift and move the tempo fader to where you want then release. I remember you changing the color of the tempo center led to see if it would fix it but it didn't. you said it was difficult to do and you didn't notice because you always mix without them on zero. I solved my problem by deciding either I want custom colored wheels and hold tempo fader to where I want it or don't custom deck colors and tempo fader returns to where its at if you nudge the fader. don't know if this helps

    Which program can read these files?😛

    I think you have to extract the images yourself.

    the one user here in the forum who once presented an app where the cover art was changed to the audio waveform apparently only exchanged the cover art files with the (transients or stripes) files^^

    I use mp3tag. Both to read the files as well as to edit cover art.

    I think we have misunderstood each other.😂
    i want to use the cover files from traktor, otherwise i have to extend my program to extract the images from the mp3 files so that i can display them. but that adds processing time.
    but the cover art files from Traktor are not really readable for me

    Next up:

    4 FX knobs and buttons to be used for stem controls when in padsmode.stems. I got to give the X1 some more love (MIDI blinker and overlay-overmapping adjustments) first. When i am done, this is what i am going to focus on.

    I have this on my custom mapping with jogFX (addad this as a backup when my Twister is not used to control stems). My STEMS button has a double-click on it that allows me to get back to controlling effects and still be on the Stems page - maybe something that would be cool for your mod too.

    Apart from the jogfx, i made this (and a few more overlays) for the fx controls via overmapping as well. A global parameter overlay (recording, limiter, master gain and some more) and a submixer overlay, accessible with SHIFT+ some other buttons. And yes, the STEM button should be the toggle for those, and the REMIX button as well. Strangely, qml Traktor properties exist for those submix controls but separately for remix slots and stems. MIDI/Overmapping assignment serve both at the sime time. ^^

    I already made a plan for how to adapt the architecture to the code, but haven't gotten around to implementing it. I thought this was missing for the S4 a while ago. I find the (hold stem button + encoder)-method totally unusable. Will be quite a bite. The Fx controls don't use soft takeover yet, so i have to add those too to make the knob use better. In that case i want to add a takeover pop-up (like the S8/D2) to the screens when this happens.

    Since i know it will be a lot to do i have to find a suitable weekend for some all-nighters. :)

    Thanks for the insight on the submix being different on Stems and Remix Decks. That is strange indeed.

    Managing to fix the soft takeover would be amazing. Even NI didn't bother to do that… And it is very much needed.

    I also have the following setup on the Eq knobs - just a food for thoughts.

    50%/50% That gets me thinking how to do this. Volume and filter on a single knob. Makes sense. Most filter use is high pass. Awesome idea!

    Thank you! My Mixtour Pro mapping was the first to bring that kind of superknobs to Traktor and it hits two targets with a single rock.

    so, i have tested it on a VR gig yesterday. Traktor S8 with the latest Traktor 4

    my observations :
    2 hard crash (with logs), 2 soft crash (music keeps playing, UI is unresponsive) within the first 30m, then i tried another folder and things went smoothly. I will keep trying on another gig.
    any workarounds or solutions to this is welcome ! (maybe disabling the S8 screens on a toggle ? i don't really need them while DJing in VR as i have my main desktop in an overlay readily available)

    i noticed my UI in the traktor software is laggy, sub-20fps. i have read this was something going on. it doesn't bother me but i think it might be related to the crash. i doubt my PC specs are the issue, things were solid stable for the last 5 years (and this rig is new from january and never had issue)

    built-in screens improvements are welcome, but i barely use them.
    the navigation is intuitive (more than the default maps) and some of the more useful control are being brought back to the main interface (such as BPM change not hidden behind a shift+)
    most of the transport (loop) and mixing control are untouched, which is a welcome thing.
    i saw the new filter section stuff, i would like to change the filter effect on a shortcut… ?
    i could really use a cheat sheet for the new shortcuts… wall of text aint easy to remember :)

    @Suh, do you have perf mods of your own to recommend ?

    as for this, if you ever wanna get back into it. have you condsidered GIT ?
    might make mashing both your codes almost automated or at least less tedious to work on
