Traktor 4 is extremely buggy. Fix your software NI

I tried to import my old D&B folder after discovering some lost tunes, and it refused to analyse my tracks or display the waveform. I'm getting fed up with it.

NI need to fix up or I'm going to go elsewhere👺 Every update contains 1 tiny bug fix and slight GUI change that looks worse than what you had. Your new logo is awful. What are you even doing?

Tiny companies that have 1 developer can smash out a whole new bit of software in the time it takes you, a major player, to fix 1 bug. Your entire team should be sacked and the whole lot rebuilt from the ground up. Terrible management.

You're ripping off your customers who have invested lots of money in your company. You have access to lots of resources with your recent acquisitions. Use them.

Your first sentence is worth getting to the bottom of, if you even want to.

The rest is uncalled for, or, if this is how you really think and feel about Traktor and NI, it should make you switch the platform instead of lamenting something that hasn't been that different over the last few years.

So either ask your co-users to help you out or smash the room and leave it.

Edit: Just to note, i completely understand your frustration. It's just completely unhelpful to rant and rave. I'd rip out my hair if it would help. It's better to ask and find a workaround. N.I. has been getting the message. This forum is mainly for users, just like you, trying to get by and help each other out. I am personally disinclined to even listed if the volume is too loud.

i have about 6 tracks out of 10k that will not analyze. i have had these files since traktor pro 2, pro 3 and now pro 4…
even back then they didnt want to analyze… maybe it is your files are corrupts or are in a weird format.

as for your rant. i'm sorry but i disagree. i'm not particularly liking every of NI features and decisions, but traktor did improve through the years, it takes advantage of newer technologies and it runs faster and always been reliable. it never failed me on a gig (if something failed once, it was my PC that overheated or was underperforming)

i do have hitched here and there that are annoying but these usually gets fixed within a few months. so i don't get your complaint, really.
step down a notch and explain the symptoms of your issues and what changes you'd like to see ?

It is most likely that those tracks are read-only or locked, so Traktor can not re-write tags on them.

It is a rather rare thing (it never happened to me, ever) and i can't find any references, so I'm mostly guessing here.

Please check them manually on your hard disc first, and confirm that they are not read-only, like this:

Then on Traktor, select them and choose "Delete from Collection".
On the window that will open, choose the second option, so Traktor can remove any old trace of them (Transient, Stripes etc.).

Then re-import them and re-analyze them.

I hope it will work for you. :-)

Note: If the tracks are locked somehow and nothing else can be done, open them with an audio editor (SoundForge, WaveLab, Audacity etc.) and re-save them under different format (i.e. if they are .wav, save them as .flac etc.). This will remove any kind of lock, and the tracks will be available for tagging and analyze. 😉

As i wrote 3 comments above, it is not the software. It is those specific files of yours. If files are locked or read-only, no software can do anything about it.

Please try the solution i posted above and let me know.

If that fails you're welcome to upload the files, and i will fix them for you in an hour!
