Komplete Kontrol A 25 / A 49 usually don't work?

Good evening!
I'm new here and this is what it's all about:
I bought the A 25 and later the A 49.
I tried to switch them on and off with an active USB 3 HUB.
This caused the first confusion. At some point I realized that I had to make sure that both controllers were not running at the same time.
I mostly use Cakewalk / Bandlab, but there are also problems with others. Play, Record, Stop buttons don't work - just like all the buttons in that area. The same goes for the large rotary and push control on the far right.

I went through everything again on the PC today:
Everything is installed on Native Excess. The drivers as well. Under Programs I see the following: Bome Virtual MIDI 2.1.0.44 NI Komplete Kontrol NI Komplete Kontrol Driver NI Komplete Kontrol Mk2 Driver

Device Manager:
Audio, Video Game Controller: Bome MIDI Komplete Kontrol A DAW ( 1 ) Komplete Kontrol A 25 MIDI Software Devices: Komplete Kontrol A DAW Komplete Kontrol A DAW KOMPLETE CONTROL A 25 MIDI ( 0 ) KOMPLETE KONTROL A 25 MIDI ( 1 )System devices:
Bome Virtual MIDI EnumeratorUSB devices:
KOMPLETE CONTROL A 25 DFUWhile checking all these participants :) I noticed that something is wrong with the last one: Device not started ( nikkadfu ).
So, that's it from me. Would be nice if you could help me. I have tried several times elsewhere - without success. Recording.de didn't work either.
Have a nice evening

Since nobody else has answered then I will share my thoughts on the matter here.

as far as I know then you can not have two N.I. keyboards connected to the same computer and get that to work. And if both are from the same series, like two A-Series keyboards, then I could imagine that that will only make the whole thing worse. Immediately then I would advice you to uninstall all traces of Kontrol keyboard drivers and Komplete Kontrol app by first uninstalling it all and then also use the N.I.reg tool to remove and delete any remnants. Then after a reboot and when sure that it is all gone then reinstall one of the keyboards only and then when you get that to work then do not attach the other keyboard again. Since this is A-Series keyboards then they do not have the DIN Midi plug so you can not connect the other keyboard that way either.

I hope that you can clean sufficiently and get one of the keyboards to work else please contact N.I. Komplete Kontrol Support and ask them for help getting one of the keyboards to work again. You can not have both keyboards attached to the same computer and attempting to switch between them as you have done I think will only create havoc.

Is there anything else I need to remove from the PC before reconnecting? Or is the one I mentioned in the first post sufficient?

I am not a keyboard installation expert and what I suggested as method in my previous post is my best assessment , Quote : Immediately then I would advice you to uninstall all traces of Kontrol keyboard drivers and Komplete Kontrol app by first uninstalling it all and then afterwards also use the N.I.reg tool to remove and delete any remnants. How can I contact the NI Support Center directly?
    I couldn't do that.

All N.I. support is through the web support interface. There are no e.g. direct phone support for end users as little as there is any email addresses to write for initializing support. The closest that you come to a 'live' person online is the chat when available which is day time on normal work days and when not too busy. Also there is a forum Customer Care on normal work days , but he is not in support directly he only works as sort of a liaison and you would still need to make a support ticket yourself. Also then the forum Customer Care employee is off until January 6th. All support must be initialized through the web support interface.

We have direct links to the specific sub parts of the web interface but that's it. In your case then please contact N.I. Komplete Kontrol Support and ask them for help getting one of the keyboards to work again. Over time, it became clear that both keyboards could not run on the same PC at the same time.
However, it was possible to use one or the other - both installed. Apparently not permanently.
So unfortunately I will have to part with one.
    Many thanks for your reply!

    Thank you.
Now I just have to decide which keyboard to keep.

It doesn't work with one keyboard or the other.
I first tried it with the 25 - without success. Then I deleted everything again as recommended.
    The same with the 49.
But I got the same message with both - with Bandlab and with Bitwig. Now I'm a bit overwhelmed...

This is a type of error that I've never even heard of. However with what you have been doing then I wouldn't be the slightest surprised if you been really screwing up Midi in Windows by your constantly shifting keyboards and what not.

So while I at this point generally have to refer you to N.I. Komplete Kontrol Support then I will still give this one more shot. Try installing the Korg USB-MIDI uninstaller device tool and use that to check and eventually clean up Windows midi registrations from all the old entries not to be used anymore.

Get the download at the KORG USB-MIDI Driver/KORG USB-MIDI Driver (for Windows) page (down the page)

For how to install and use then please refer to this page from down the page where it says Step 1 :

DAW Unable to Detect MIDI Controller on Windows? Try This (install only the USB-MIDI Driver Uninstaller Tool)

Then after cleaning the Wiindows Midi devices list then you might have to once more uninstall both Komplete Kontrol and all the Kontrol drivers and then try one more time.

I can not guarantee that this will help but it is the only thing that I can come up with at this time. As for your DAW then I don't know if you have to reset them somehow.

If you still can not get the keyboards to work then please contact N.I. Komplete Kontrol Support and ask them for help getting one of the keyboards to work again. In case that you need guidance contacting support : How to contact NI Support and How to get in touch with our Customer Care

P.S. Else try this fix : [Solved] Could not open MIDI output: There is not enough memory available for this task.

Quote : The slightly more fiddly approach detailed by 'backtomusic' further back, on the other hand, seems to have solved the problem in a more persistent manner, so that - so far - I have not had to repeat the steps, and the controller just works with Bitwig, without any issues. So the extra futzing about seems worthwhile.

    Good morning,
I used this tool from KORG.
I noticed that I have not yet reached the limit of 10 USB devices.
In 5th place is the important BOME driver - I have the Komplete Kontrol 49 installed.

At the bottom is a YAMAHA USB driver from a KX 25.
An approx. 15 year old MIDI keyboard that has been lying unused in the corner of my rehearsal room for a long time.
I have now installed it as a test (just the driver) and it works perfectly on my W 11.
Am I doing something wrong with the NI devices?

Auf diesem Bild ist zu sehen, welche Treiber ( garantiert ) nichts damit zu tun haben ? :)

I noticed that I have not yet reached the limit of 10 USB devices.

Sorry , I thought that the frequent keyboard changes might have messed up that part in Windows , but it has not so you should just ignore that unless you get a specific reason not to.

Also then generally Windows can now handle many more Midi devices than 10. The only reasons why you would need to edit the Windows Midi device list would be if you are using software that are so old or so stupid made that it requires the device to be on the list as one of the first 10 (from when that were max number) so that you would have to free up a space on the 1 to 10 part for your device for that e.g. old program to work with your device. Or if something went so really wrong that you had generated a list with very many Midi devices. I don't know how many Windows and modern software can handle , but usually there is no problem even with dozens of Midi devices on the list.

You should move on to this trying this fix :

[Solved] Could not open MIDI output: There is not enough memory available for this task.

Quote backtomusic over at kvraudio.com forum

If you have this problem without open ports, there may a corrupt config file or something like that.
Basically, that error locks the midi port when the system boots and your f***ed.

Reinstall cant solve the problem, because NI:s install and deinstall does not overwrite or remove the file that is corrupt.

In another thread I wrote this, which solved my problem:

Well, I have found the solution. All evidence in my case pointed to that NI has stored

a corrupt file somewhere that it reads upon reboot, and that this file is not removed during uninstall.

So I searched the usual folders for Native Instruments folder, and renamed the containing folders to X-<something>-

Basically I did the following, and I had nothing that needed saving, but I guess it's good to keep the backup by renaming the folders instead of deleting them if presets one has setup is stored somewhere there.

    1. I Inactivated the device "KOMPLETE KONTROL M32 MIDI"

    2. I stopped every NI-service I could find and the app started in the background called "NTKDaemon" and whatever NI-related wasn't stopped by the services. This is because the folders contained in the native instruments folders was locked and could not be renamed otherwise.

    3. In AppData/Local/Native Instruments folder I renamed all folders with a prefix "X-" i had to get them back. In c:\ProgramData\Native Instruments I renamed the folders "Controller Editor" and "Komplete Kontrol"

    4. Reboot

    5. Activated the device "KOMPLETE KONTROL M32 MIDI"

    6. Rebooted once more.

    7. Everything is working and KOMPLETE KONTROL M32 MIDI is not blocked anymore, I can reboot how many times I want and the problem is gone.. no more locked M32 MIDI.

Thank you very much for your efforts!
But - to be honest - the whole thing is becoming a lot of trouble. I bought the two controllers with the idea that they would be of the same quality as all the software I now own from NI.But that's not the case at all. I now have several options:

    1. try out your suggestion, which seems strange for a well-known hardware like NI -
I mean the detours to make it work.
    2. I keep one of the two and wait for the PC to be set up again. Then the chances of success are good, right,
    3. I sell the A 25 and the A 49 and look for something completely new. Until then, I'll use older parts that still work. I'll let the whole thing go through my head next week...
