NO AUDIO from NI plugins in Logic 11.1 using Komplete Kontrol S88 Mk2
Just switched from Intel Mac to M4 Mac.
MacOS: Sequoia 15.2
Logic version: 11.1
All NI plugins have been updated to latest versions. I can select libraries and patches via Komplete Kontrol S88Mk2 as always. I can hear the auditions as always.
BUT Komplete Kontrol S88Mk2 DOES NOT KEY selected sounds using the keyboard.
I can see that Logic is receiving MIDI, but the NI and Spitfire Audio NKI plugins are not producing sounds when keyed.
Apple's virtual instruments work just fine.
Any suggestions, insights, or information will be most welcome.
Best regards,
Charles

@ccoursey52 No such bugs were reported, it looks more like a setu issue.
What happens in Komplete Kontrol in standalone? Can you load, play and control the instruments?
Can you share a screenshot of your MIDI input preferences in Komplete Kontrol in standalone?
Do you use CleanMyMac?
If you still struggle after that, reach out to our support: https://bit.ly/NI_support_Kontrol

Well, it looks like you need an installation specialist, that's why I'm forwarding you to them. I'm not a specialist, if I had any more tips or advice I would have shared them. We try to help users as much as possible on the forum but we can't be a substitute for support in all cases, sometimes it requires more expertise and might require private data.

Might possibly be related to this?

Not a solution to my problem.
Komplete Kontrol S88Mk2 works with ALL virtual instruments except NI (and Spitfire instruments associated with NI.0 -
You haven't added ntkdaemon though

Partial success! I have now given the NTKdaemon full disk access.
NI Loops and One-Shots function properly now—but NOT the VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS, which reside on an external SSD.
I thought I had reconnected the libraries properly, but obviously not.
Can you help me resolve this remaining part of my issue?Thank you so much for your help with “full disk access” part of this mystery.

It's local network access you need to grant ntkdaemon too (on Sequoia)
If it hasn't had the popup asking to be added or if you dismissed it you might have to close ntkdaemon using activity monitor then reopen the process which hopefully will initiate the popup (but it is a bit slow sometimes - that's on Apple though)

Also give Kontakt full disk access

I gave Kontact access.
Then I went to the activity monitor, found the NKTdaemon, and double-clicked it. A dialogue box popped up. I clicked it, and the daemon either quit—or was deleted.
I opened Komplete Kontrol app and tried keying. Sounds with the S 88. Still no when keyed from the keyboard. (auditioning sounds works fine.)
I searched my for NKTdaemon.
The search came up empty.I guess I’ll need to reinstall it somehow?
Please advise…Best regards,

Thanks for your time and consideration, Kymeia.
At this point, NI virtual instruments don't work—nor do Spitfire virtual instruments built to work with NI.
This is not MY PROBLEM.
Meanwhile, I've discovered that the virtual instruments in Logic 11.1 (native to M4 and Sequoia) are adequate to my needs. And all of my other virtual instruments made by Toontracks and XLN have integrated well into my new M4/Sequoia production workflow.
Trying (in vain) to integrate NI and Spitfire have cost me a lot of time and energy—not to mention the money I've invested in hardware (Komplete Kontrol S88Mk2) as well as various iterations of NI/Spitfire virtual instrument software.
Hope you guys can get your ****** together for integration into MacOS/silicon workflows soon enough not to damage your reputations severely.
I can't, in good conscience, recommend NI nor Spitfire to anyone. I can only report my loss of productivity and warn them away.
I'd like to have full functionality of the hardware and software I've paid good money for.
I'm not even gonna try to understand why NI and Spitfire can't deliver while other 3rd party suppliers can.
Best regards (to you, personally),

'/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/NTK/NTKDaemon.app'
If you have closed it in activity monitor you can reopen it by double clicking on the app (unless you accidentally deleted it - in which case either restore it from your recycle bin or reinstall Native Access)

Not my job to accommodate NI tech inadequacies.
Let me know when NI has caught up with Mac M4/Sequoia technology.
Better hurry.
Despite my substantial expenditures, I’m ready to move on without NI—and Spitfire. Logic 11.1 makes it easy.Best regards (to you, personally),

Up to you. Just bear in mind this is a new security feature in Sequoia - nothing to do with NI, and I notice you have had to add things like ilok too. The thing is there is no way for NI to circumvent this because if an app could do that then a malicious programmer could exploit that to do the same. It’s a bit more work for us users because the aim is to put us in control of how apps communicate with each other - which because a lot of NI software functions as an ecosystem is more essential than the average standalone app.

Sorry. I expressed myself with my frustrated voice.😬🙄 Sometimes I'm just a whiney little ****** about tech frustrations. I won't do that again.
I DO want to get this working.I need to revisit your instructions to confirm my correct understanding.
- I checked the Activity Monitor just now.
NTKdaemon is still there.
Double-clicking offers me a dialog box: Do you want to Quit? - So, I'm supposed to click "Quit," right?
- After I click "Quit", do I leave Activity Monitor open or closed?
- You instructed me to "reopen the process that hopefully will initiate the popup." I'm not sure which process you're referring to. Do I reopen my DAW? Kontact? Activity Monitor?
- ALSO: I don't see a way to manually add NKTdaemon (nor any NI apps) to Local Network. The "hosting agent" is already in the list. (see screenshot)
Thanks for any and all further assistance you may offer.
Best regards,
Charles
0 - I checked the Activity Monitor just now.

Unfortunately Apple have not made it possible to manually add items to this in the same way you can with full disk access, so it relies on the app or process that needs it doing something (such as attempting to access the local network) that initiates the system prompt to add items. If ntkdaemon isn’t doing that right now it seems a reasonable assumption that shutting it down then restarting it might force it to reconnect to the network which will make the prompt appear. It’s a possibly anyway.
So the steps would be:
Close ntkdaemon in activity monitor (you don’t need to keep it open after that)
Go to the folder I gave you where the app is
Double click on ntkdaemon to start it up again
If that doesn’t bring up the popup then try a reboot
Of course this might not be the solution to your problem but I believe in a process of elimination when troubleshooting issues

Not a solution. But A+5 for effort, Kymeia.

Did you get the popup at least?
