I am unable to access Native Access
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone could help.
I have just purchased N.I FM8 but cannot download the Native Access to receive the software.
I have a Macbook (late 2011) with Logic X
Any info would be much appreciated :)
Thanks,
Helen

Judging from the age of the computer then your unknown OS (that you want to keep a secret from us ? Else then why did you not tell ?) could be too old to compatible with the Native Access version that you want.
However then you can find old version of Native Access here : Native Access Legacy Installers for Older Operating Systems
And old versions of FM8 linked at various OS , e.g. you will find a FM8 version under Mojave if using that. : Compatibility of Native Instruments Products on macOS
Else then you really need to be more specific and tell us exactly what version that OS is ?
Also : ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : Howto Enable Full Disk Access on macOS and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats
P.S. : Please notice that as of some time early next year then N.A. 1 might not work anymore .

You did not mention your OS - but I am guessing it may be too old to use the latest Native Access - which will be required to authorize FM8 (and possibly other stuff).
Here are the requirements:

Thanks for the answers, much appreciated ;) it's a late 2011 Mac the OS is Yosemite 10.10.5 I wasn't trying to hide anything, honestly!

the OS is Yosemite 10.10.5
Thank you , then you ought to be able to find the downloads for your OS at the pages that I have shared a link to Native Access Legacy Installers for Older Operating Systems and Compatibility of Native Instruments Products on macOS (Section "Yosemite" : FM8 version 1.4.1) And I have marked this as an issue solved then.

Never thought that you were trying to hide anything. I were just trying to apply a 'funny' angle to the situation. My apologies if you misunderstood my attempt to 'be funny'.

I have tried the older version of Native Access but that has failed.
Looks as though my machine is too old for FM8 https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014900358-Compatibility-of-Native-Instruments-Products-on-macOS

I had thought that NAv1 is now completely unusable due to protocol and other back end changes that have occurred over the last 6 months.
Have seen a number of threads where users have grabbed this old version only to find out it no longer connects to NI at all. Do I have this wrong?

The old version link doesn't work but also my machine is too old anyway!

Has failed is not specific. If because of installation troubles did you then follow the ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : Howto Enable Full Disk Access on macOS and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats ?

OS X 10.10
FM8
Both these links works just fine I have tested both, For errors concerning the Download Limit error then Log into Google first and then try downloading again. If that does not work then check out the part : "2 File/Link Share Type" down the page of this guide : "How to Bypass the Google Drive Download Quota Exceeded Error?"
The above ought to help you circumvent the download limit , but if you can not be bothered to follow the instructions how to circumvent then you will have to wait for the download limit to be reset.

No , you could be right. I am operating solely on basis of what I know and learn here and this is the first feedback I have had or noticed which says what you says. I get more or less zero information on such issue from N.I. so I work only on what is available of information here in general. I were under the impression that it still worked and would keep working until spring . (My apologies should I turn out to be ignorant about state of things with respect to N.A. 1)
@Mert_NI , do you have any information to add with respect to the functionality of N.A. 1 (does N.A. 1 still work ?) and FM8 on Yosemite 10.10.5 ?

@PoorFellow right, tried to install the older Native access for 10.10 Yosemite and copied it across to applications folder. Launched it only for it to say 'download failed'

Mert_Ni is a Native Access specialist and might not know about FM8 other than with respect to activation questions. From a general point of view then the download for Yosemite ought to work on Yosemite and that should not change unless with respect to activation questions due to functionality changes of N.A. 1.
If you have any specific issues getting FM8 to run other than activation issues then that ought to be something that you would need to seek assistance for in the forum here.

Maybe Mac expert @Jeremy_NI have a tip that can help you. ? (I just alerted Jeremy_NI here who will arrive tomorrow or later)

@PoorFellow I've worked through 'how to enable full disk mode' on my system under 'security & privacy' it doesn't have the option under the privacy tab to choose 'full disk access' with the padlocked unlatched.

I know only little about Mac but try this guide to see if that also fits your OS :
How to grant Full Disk Access to Disk Drill in macOS Mojave else maybe try Mac help ?

@PoorFellow thanks for your speedy response @Jeremy_NI my issues are:
- I purchased FM8 today.
- I am having trouble downloading a suitable N.I access for a Yosemite 10.10.25 Mac and as a result can't download my FM8 purchase.
- I've worked through the other solutions above kindly posted by @Vocalpoint @Mert_NI and a few others. This included enabling all disk access under 'privacy and security' but to no avail.
I think this is quite a common problem so might be good to start a new thread for older Mac users to download N.I 🤔
