How to upgrade to maschine 2.0 software

Well, we don't sell Maschine 2.0 anymore as it's discontinued. You can buy a second hand licence. If you wish to buy the Maschine 3 update then you won't be able to load your Maschine 1 projects. You need Maschine 2.8 for that: How to Import MASCHINE 1 Projects In MASCHINE 2
So for this reason @LeoMajor if you wish to buy the Maschine 3 software update, then we would add a Maschine 2 licence for free on demand (for yyour particular case). Just let us know.

How to i use my machine mk1?
Do i install the 1.8 software and then update to the 2.6.8 update under the legacy?
There is no option to upgrade from maschine 1.8 to 2. whatever anymore for my MK1.
Which is the latest software am I able to use for the MK1 and where do I purchase/download it??0 -
You should had done this update 11 to 8 years ago (Maschine 2 software first lunched in 2013).
You could did it even just a month ago!
Now, after releasing Maschine 3, i do not think that is possible anymore.
Is this possible @Jeremy_NI ?

Well…. I decided to use it today….. and I paid 700-800$ for this MK1 10 years ago I am not paying 800$ for the MK3 again.
I mean I know I can sail the high seas if I really needed to for a 2.4 version… but I would much rather pay 40$ or whatever to upgrade from 1.8 to 2.x If I can.
Or do I install 1.8 that it came with and thenMASCHINE 2.6.8 Win Update
??
IS this the best I can get from NI right now?2 -
The link to the update to V.2 used to be this one , but N.I. appeared to have removed it from the shop meaning that N.I. most likely do not sell the update anymore , also the update pricing page now returns an error. Other stores appear to also only sell the update to version 3.
To make matters worse then even if should you buy e.g. the Maschine 3 Update then N.I. will not allow you to downgrade that to version 2 , at least that is how it usually is.
Usually then the only way to get old software after it has been removed from the shop is to buy it second hand that is if anyone will have it for sale that is.

Well this is something they need to address because people will still be selling the MK1 second hand.
People need software to use for the mk1. There should be a free 2.x legacy installer for mk1 users. Or at least an option to pay like 20$ for the latest compatible mk2 software for the mk11 -
Ok so I installed 1.8.1 and I can't even use it because It says I am not "activated" and when I click to active it uses the old service center app that is no longer used by NI
So I can't even "authenticate" my mk1 to work with the 1.8 software.
Which means I only have 1 choice. And that's to tuse the high seas 2.4 software thats unlocked…
I don't care though because I paid 800$ for this and NI is giving me no options to use their product with their software anymore/.1 -
Removing the option to update to V2 does seem a bit odd…

Those are legacy downloads for using with old OS's. If the user downloads it wont be the latest v2 and will be stuck in demo since he has no license.

Yea the problem right now is I can't activate my serial/licence with the MK1 because the Native Service Center app is obsolete that the 1.8 software comes with.
I need a way to get the 2.0 software either by purchasing or downloading it.
NI gives no options for me or my MK1 right now.0 -
Service Center does not exist since long time, but, you can still activate your serial, through Native Access.

There should be a free 2.x legacy installer for mk1 users.
I have located the following downloads for you :
This page : Maschine 2 Legacy Installers for Older Operating Systems
And these 2 downloads (Source) :
That will however not solve the basic problem of license and activation
I am sorry but this is the best that I personally can do for you.

Wouldn't buying Maschine 3 also permit running an older version with that license?

Yes but there is nothing to download inside of native access for my mk1 related to maschine 2.0

And I will not spend 800 for mk3 again when my mk1 is perfectly fine to use….. I'm not trying to be serious about making beats I just do it for fun as a hobby. , Unless you want to donate yourself ;) There should be a way for me to access a legacy software for maschine 2 for the MK1 or purchase the latest maschine 2 software for my Mk1
