True. I made that statement simply because I already know a lot of people are going to want something incredibly advanced; as you'd expect in a VST. People are going to want to use the knobs to etch-e-sketch envelope shapes and stuff. I don't think it's something we should be expecting from the hardware.

Build stuff with that kind of feature in mind; but don't try to "drink the ocean".

People talk about automation. They want to have curves. IMO, maschine should be focused on performing that automation and capturing the performance. Do it with your mouse if you want. Do it with the controller if you want. They can try to add more features later.

    Scale lock in piano roll

Integration of Chords/Phrases Tools in Maschine Software

More ARP Modes especially random and round robins

    Better possibilities in variation mode

    Automation Tools

    Automation of Tempo per Scene

    Step Mode for Melodies

My ideas had been the same even before 3.0 version was released:

    1. Adding automation - the ability to add curves, draw automation with a mouse, preferably in the song mode / arrangement view
    2. Polyphonic aftertouch - the newest MIDI controller would be integrated better and aftertouch would finally be unlocked in the Maschine hardware
    3. Deeper integration with Komplete Kontrol MK3 - I don't expect editing patterns on the controller, but browser and quantize options would be awesome
    4. Plugin Delay Compensation - it'd be cool to use some plugins that are a bit heavier on the CPU; I don't agree with some people that mixing is impossible in the Maschine software, but PDE would make it easier
    5. Legato option in the piano roll - it would speed up my workflow massively and it seems like an easy thing to add

On the hardware the modulators could work in a similar way to Macros.

You set up your modulator, then use the hardware to select what it is you want to modulate. That should work (as a concept) for any parameter that can be changed via the hardware, which is pretty much everything aside from some stuff in very visual or complex plug ins.

Being able to do this with the hardware might add an element of performance or humanness to any modulation. Similar to using automation.

We're seeing a lot of basic modulation in all the Play series of expansions, so maybe that's 'easy' to port into Maschine and Komplete Kontrol.

Polyphonic aftertouch support for sure, including recording and editing of aftertouch modulation (MPE too eventually)

Browser and mixer support for the MKIII keyboards

Together just those 2 things would enable me to finally use Maschine for recording and composition in conjunction with my MKIII keyboard rather than just as a beat box

Sampler improvements such as time stretch, round robin and granular options (even better spectral resynthesis using iZotope Iris tech)

More scope for multiple time signatures in projects

Full support for VST3 plugins (.vstpreset support is still missing)

Better NKS creation tools including export of NKS previews and batch import of presets

    • Pattern & clip based automation with straight line and curve drawing / editing tools. This was supposedly the second biggest user request wasn’t it? Mulab has a good implementation for example. I mean even a straight line tool would’ve been something
    • Instance-based clips - (linked / alias / ghost) - changes to one clip affect the other copies if linked. Should include automation clips as well as midi note clips
    • Save clips to library so they can be reused in other projects.
    • Internal MIDI routing for generative/sequencing VST plugins like Stochas etc

    thanks

I’d like to see a Native Link like Ableton link that can link masculine nd Traktor together. I shouldn’t have to use a third party software to sync them.

Also I know you can’t talk about future hardware, but will there be any hope of a new Jam?

I just want to drop a bit of praise in - using midi mode with Groove Agent is now super easy, and my NKS Pack for Borsta works straight out of the box without having to use midi mode. Love the darker skin. Big win.

    My requests:
    Poly aftertouch
    MPE support
Random beat generator - if most people use it in a DAW, this might speed up the ideas process.
    Previews for projects
Interactive tutorial (because newcomers need this, IMO, rather than watching a video)
Double high five for @Kymeia's request: (even better spectral resynthesis using iZotope Iris tech)
Some integration from Pluggin Alliance software. Imagine if Lion was part of Maschine!

    Fixes:
In Vendor view, have Spitfire Audio plugins as one vendor, rather than two (for plugins over Kontakt), I literally have two a-z lists and it's not a good experience.

I quite like the idea that Ableton introduced with their new Move - the ability for it to load up a selection of sounds for you at random when starting a new track.

E.G. drums on one group, bass on another, a lead sound, a pad and so on. That way, rather than spending time endlessly scrolling through presets and demos, it picks from various places for you. Allow the user to set various parameters i.e. select from favourites or from a particular genre etc. but the end result is picked for you.

Since Maschine is great for starting ideas etc. I would really like to see Retrospective MIDI recording feature! Would be nice to just play melodies in Maschine and capture the midi afterwards, instead of opening other DAW for this feature. It would help to not miss/forget great ideas when trying out something with your keyboard or Maschine pads. Also it really frees your mind to focus solely on music instead of thinking when to stop playing and going back and record.

I love using Maschine as it is intuitive and easy to create music. I know that I can record audio from a microphone via my interface in the "Ideas" view. I would love to be able to record audio in "Song" view. Having this would make it easier for song completion when adding vocals. The audio clips option in "Ideas" view can be done however having the option to record in "Song" view can help when arranging a song and allow me to record, mix, and even master right here in Maschine without having to export stems and record vocals elsewhere.

Also, when arranging scenes in "Song" view I notice that once I have a full arrangement I am unable to Insert a scene in the middle of the song. This would be a nice feature versus having to select and drag multiple scenes to make room for a scene I want to add or find the place where I may want to add/insert a scene and change all the scenes from that point to the end to get the arrangement that I want. Thanks so much NI :-)
