Maschine 3.0 General Discussion

I think there might be a way of controlling the new Drum Machine / Pattern Sequencer from Push. After all, the MIDI Remote in Cubase is crazy powerful. I'm going to look into that myself over the next few weeks!

Yes MIDI always works. With Softube Console getting improved integration it would nice to see the same proper integration with Maschine and the new Cubase Drum Machine - and Cubase GUI now even support 8K displays. Maschine 3 does not even have GUI scaling.

is it possible to automate the tempo within a scene in song view?

I think it depends on what you believe (and what NI believes) you have spent your upgrade money on.
If it's a downpayment for another decades worth of Maschine software development, until version 4.0 comes out, then it represents really excellent value (IMHO).
If it's just for this iteration and 3.1 will come with another chunk of cash demand, that's a whole different ball game. This feels very sparse for a paid update, especially given the previous decade's updates. But if it's a cash grab to finance future development, then that's tolerable. If it's just the cash grab…..

Not gonna happen. On Komplete Kontrol they finally implemented on-device Scale Assist, but it doesn't even follow the selected Scale in your DAW. They just don't care…

Tempo is per scene so i guess it's sticked to scene even in song moge (i mean arragment).

Giving them a chance to improve Maschine workflows, but it may be time to ditch Maschine MK3 for Push 3 completely.

Nice summary @Impermanence.
I think it's good and right to recognize the effort that's been made, but it's also fair and right to call out the glacially slow progress in many features that the community wanted. Personally, only the MIDI features were of interest in this update and aren't enough to return to Maschine SW. I kept my MK3, contributed to the surveys, and held out hope that this upgrade would improve the Maschine software considerably, but it really isn't enough for me to upgrade or use the ecosystem for anything other than a glorified sample player.
In any case, based on the the surveys and time since the programme had an integer update, I really thought the majority of the below would be implemented, in addition to routing improvements for use with other programmes. I probably missed some other surveys, but these were most of interest to me and what I want from Maschine.
Pattern Editor & MIDI (3 of 9 implemented)
Automation & Modulation (0 of 6 implemented)
I've posted about it before on this forum, but I will finally sell my MK3 and move over to the MPC platform. I've flirted with the idea for a few years now but held off, preferring to learn and develop a workflow in Live. While holding out for improvements to the Maschine sampler, MIDI editor/piano roll, custom chord sets, automation/modulation, as well as the Arranger, I have missed the tactile workflow of a groovebox that can integrate with other DAWs. Push 3 is out of budget, has limited I/O, and is a little large for my space, so the obvious choice is the MPC One. The MPC hardware-software integration is undoubtedly clunkier and certainly can be buggy, but the progress and software development has been really, really impressive from what I've seen. And the thought of multitracking a performance into Live has me excited.
Sad to sell my MK3 as I still think it is a beautiful piece of hardware with great integration… of a relatively limited and slowly developed software. I'll definitely keep an eye on where NI brings the Maschine software, but in the meantime my advice to @Kai_NI would be: (i) manage expectations better (surveys being a case in point); (ii) listen to what the community really wants (surveys being a case in point); (iii) and push the updates out much faster. I think the majority of Maschine users would take any of the above features with a minor bug over not having them at all.3 -
Get in touch with support, they'll sort it out for you: https://bit.ly/n1acc

Audible preview when moving notes ONLY in the software.
So I would Say 2.5 requests were implemented
Not to have any of the midi editing imrovements or the note preview working from the controller is bizzare..
Descisions like this do puzzle me

The NI support fixed that issue for me very quickly.

Because it's on-device, not in-daw. We have no knowledge of any scale the DAW might be set to. That is not available to us as a MIDI Controller. What we build was the ability for a user to define a custom scale on their MIDI keyboard, which customizes the MIDI sent out to anywhere, hardware or software.
That has nothing to do with not caring.

Yes, it is.

This is not why we do them. That would be foolish indeed. We do them to learn. It helped inform what we've done here, and will do next.

This is one flaw with public polls - they create the appearance of something more requested or more popular, but are only as good as the number and type of respondents to that particular poll. Case in point: Stem Separation is a gimmick to you, but considered essentially by so many others.
We have also run many other types of surveys with many other responses - and so what we've done first is designed for the most en masse impact.
What we'll do next should hope to increase positivity amongst others, and will include some Sampler improvements. The next few Sampler improvements are not the ones you're asking for here, but those are noted.
