how to connect my launch key to native instruments so I can controll the 8 pots/knobs
Hi there everyone, been wanting to do this for well over a year now, have gone down a few rabbit holes and never been able to find how to map / connect my launch key 25 to my native instruments products to control the 8 pot/knobs that most n.i instruments have for automating parameters, really hope this is possible, its a crime if it isn't! please help if you know how, much appreciated!!!

As I mentioned in your other post, the Launchkey doesn't have the facilities to synchronize those settings with the NI libraries so you have to configure them separately as far as I know. There are other MIDI keyboards other than the NI keyboard that can do it, but I don't remember Launchkey as one that's been updated to be able to do that.

yeah makes sense as to why I haven't been able to suss it out for so long, man, that sucks, a simple bit of midi mapping won't work so I have to go out and buy another controller, nah I'm not doing it, tbh the bundle I bought was a rip off, now that I know I can''t do that. a dev could sort out that issue in no time, plenty of people use launch keys for Ableton, and they are reasonably priced. I've broke the bank on production gear for years to little satisfaction. great. anyone know how to request this gets an update to be able to do this basic task?

No reason why you shouldn't be able to connect your controller to Kontakt instruments.
Have you connected it up correctly? Either do the channels match, or is the Kontakt instrument set to omni? If so, you should see flickering of the DIN plug icon in the instrument header when you move your controller. (If not, you haven't). Manual will tell you how to do MIDI Learn.
Occasionally it (MIDI Learn) doesn't work, so you have to make the connection in the Browser>Automation>MIDI Automation (have a look at the manual). If you open this tab, and blow your instrument (or move your slider), you'll get a red flash next to the cc number that your instrument is sending. Drag that cc number to the slider you want to automate. R Click on the slider afterwards, if you've done it properly it should say "Remove MIDI Automation" and the cc number you've assigned.

You'd probably have to go to a Novation support site as the reason for these differences is there's been a fairly significant change industry wide in the way keyboards integrate tightly with DAWs and plugins. This can be a fairly significant investment on the side of MIDI keyboard manufacturers, particularly those that are in the lower priced market like Novation. There's really no way to retrofit such a thing since it's all really based on the expanded circuit logic and programming of the keyboard itself.
