Will there be an update for maschine+ too? I would love to have a way to use link and start/stop.

I think this is my biggest & most exciting take-away from the Community Update thread!
To me, there is nothing "sacred" about Battery as a product itself.. but the music-creation FUNCTION of it being shifted into the new "under the hood" capabilities of Kontakt 8 is a exactly what needs to happen. Congrats to the Kontakt development team for forging ahead into a smarter approach for the long-term.
I wonder what NI will name this new Battery-type instrument?? Battery X?
And the hints that Massive X might find a path into using the expanded capabilities of Kontakt 8… also exciting! Unifying the development tools with Komplete Toolkit is so smart for the future. Perhaps Massive X evolves into a hybrid instrument like the new Conflux?
That would be like having direct integration of Massive X on the Kontrol S3 keyboards.. bring it on!

I don’t think the 2 comments were meant to be seen as connected. There are not such ‘big plans’ for Battery from the sound of it at the moment

Why is Battery even needed anymore, can't Maschine replace it? Maybe a mini-maschine as a battery replacement?

I agree with Massive second to none, I stopped using digital hardware after getting to know Massive X, I found I’d just rather Massive.
I find Massive X almost perfect, I’d be careful about adjusting the interface much as it is pretty intuitive to me at least. What it does need is poly aftertouch! Or at least a way to edit which note triggers aftertouch, I’d prefer low note over last note personally.
MPE would be rad too. Integrate to M+ would be even better!

Agreed - it is nowhere near as difficult as was implied. I think the main reason sound designers have not engaged with it is it still is not possible to create your own distinct preset banks with it. I know from talking to several prominent sound designers that is a major turn off as they see their presets just getting lost in one expanding list of ‘user presets’
That and performers not being polyphonic as was the case with Massive

You don't need the software on the computer to operate the M+, I'm pretty sure you will not be charged for the updates to the M+ onboard software.

Are we going to get the M+ kernel update anytime soon? Do we have to wait till 2025?

@Stemphonyx @OhulahanBass Guys it's already been stated on the first page of this thread (October 8th) that the firmware update for the Plus is coming………….at some point.

I agree it's fair to have some compensation for the work. But since I am a very good customer and since I've been waiting too much time for bug fixes I think I deserve a compensation too. I don`t spect a free upgrade to Maschine 3 … but a special price / discount may be a nice detail from NI.
Komplete purchase may be relevant. There exist "crossover" offers from NI. In fact a few years ago I've purchased a nice discount with "crossover" offert.2 -
Well - hopefully we are all "good" customers and yes - any discount would be most appreciated.
But that should never be expected or implied or tied to whatever else we may have bought from any vendor over time.
If you score a deal - take it. But don't assume you are going to get one or get bent out of shape is one is not offered to you.
Do remember - nobody is forcing us to buy anything.

Maybe we should leave the 3.0 update out of it, because it’s up to NI how the would like to do business development on feature versions or products… so let’s talk patches / fixes to 2.0 and in relation to the M+, because that should be free and therefore not confused with new feature development.
