Is It The Kontrol S-MK1 Just Kicked Out?
Anyone else try Kontakt 8 with their S25-MK1 alone or Maschine. I lived with the support in either capacity with the KK-S25. But after standalone, in the Maschine it completely just "default" when I load Kontakt 8 (player, not in full) on Sound. The "BLUE" Light guide doesn't even show on keyboard. Anyone else? Starting Question, a discussion elsewhere.

The Kontrol S-Series MKI AND MKII - do not support direct integration with Kontakt.
Only the new MKIII board has the ability to do that.
And the MKI does not support Komplete Kontrol v3 either.
As long as you are on Komplete Kontrol v2.9.6 - Kontakt 8 should work normally with your MKI over there.

Kontakt 8 does not load in KK 2.9.6 on my side…Does it work for you?

What library are you trying to load?
According to Kymeia here, Kontakt 8 should generally work with KK 2.9.6 - except when trying to load e.g. Conflux. I can confirm that. If I load e.g. Bouquet, Kontakt 8 will open up just fine. Tried to do the same with Conflux and I get "Could not load Plug-in".

I concur with @Monochrome above.
While I do not have K8 installed as of yet - many are confirming that K8 works fine in KK v2.9.6. Except as noted with Conflux.

I will try KK in v2, and let you know. but running v3 and no problem in Kontakt 6 or 7 with Kontakt 8 in use.

I only been getting KK Browser when in Maschine. Standalone I dont even get "loop window" let along and Kontakt instrument…only vst. v2.x and v3 for a minute. I concern with why the Keyboard itself is not being able to push its current state, to other midi keyboards. If they going to take options away from us in all Software. Now i basically cant use the Keyboard as NI Keyboard with NI software. But can as NI MIDI Controller.

It is Kontakt 8 loaded as plug-in on Maschine "Sound", Keyboard blacks out light guide. But when you choose another Sound (2-16) without Kontakt 8 plugin its Normal. Default state for Kontrol keyboards is BLUE, no matter what unless a NI product is aware. Might have to check out what you just mentioned also.

May be glitchy or realizing S-MK1 is not suppose to have full reign. My Kontakt itself takes 30min to say Demo on non party Library, then won't let me load them while after but I'm not use to player just trying out Keyboard with it to see what the MK1 can do for me until a new KK Keyboard is mandatory.

Just seen Fix in new KK and Kontakt 8 update in Native Access. For loading audio file in Classic View and sampler/audio module missing in KK standalone. Which was happening to me.
Someone mentioned older version of KK (v2.x) may work or v3 isnt supporting our S-Series. Should I try? And in release notes it says "MK3 onboard smart play" is now compatible with KK standalone . My point in question S-Series of our model is being "Kicked", if MK3 Smart play is becoming compatible it wasnt built with KK Smart Play SW or HW features of just MK2. No one else showed yet MK3 pushing its "onboard Smart Play" to generic MIDI controller just because its powered on and on the same computer usb…no routing or midi mapping.

Also Kithara and Porphrya now, so I suspect this may be the case with many post K8 libraries. Not sure why though as K8 itself does load so it shouldn’t really make a difference

Using the KK-S-MK1 I would stick to Kontakt 7 to avoid presets that do not work.

Thanks for the update - I am in no rush for K8 so this is not a huge issue for me at the moment.
Maybe in 2025 I might need to make some deeper decisions.
