KOMPLETE KONTROL needs new GUI

I have no words how to describe this trash

These days people record videos and take pictures on 8k cameras and screens, but NI does not even allow properly work on 4K monitors, while they are on the market for 15 years..

We really need new scalable GUI for KOMP{LETE KONTROL and KONTAKT. So far every new release is like trying to reanimate almost dead patient. Pathetic:-(

Oddly enough my 1980 x 1020 resolution works just dandy for doing all my DAW and NI work even with my 72 year old eyes. Somehow I find it hard to get worked up over your issue…..

But then again, I compose and create with my ears and not my eyes…………

Firstly - what you are showing here is the former version of Komplete Kontrol - v2.9.6 - which has now been permanently retired.

This version was designed specifically for S-Series MK1/MKII keyboards. Works great but will not see any further maintenance or fixes - espeically when it comes to redoing the GUI for scaling.

Now - If you have a MKII OR the MKIII series Kontrol keyboards - and sizing is a concern - you should consider a move to KK v3.3.x - it has vastly better resizing for larger displays.

And word has it that the upcoming Kontakt 8 - will be fully scalable for larger displays. Coming on Sept 23.

Even in the current version of Kontakt, you can choose a zoom factor for displaying instruments. That loads inside KK, and then makes the instruments bigger.

And as @Vocalpoint says, KK 3.X has a HiDPI interface.

LOL! But I still want to use my eyes too, hehe. But you're not wrong, and I have at least one monitor set to 1080P. That does seem to help for those things that are too tiny to actually read on a high resolution monitor.

Some like the real-estate of being able to have more than just 1 application displayed on a monitor. I mean I was able to get along just fine back in the days of 1024x576 but we have porogressed past that, same as 1080p displays, they were great 15 years ago as was an iphone 3

TBH I can read the application window better than I can read the tiny icons on your desktop. Looks perfectly normal considering the huge resolution difference but yeah, if it bothers you maybe you will have better luck updating to the latest V3 of KK (unless you have an MK1 keyboard that is…)

The reality is that the world of software still runs (primarily) on 1920x1080 (p) .

Regardless of how many 4K monitors are our there.

4K lost its shine for me when I saw the razor stubble and blackheads on Captain Kirk's face during one of the newer Star Trek movies. That was definitely TMI for me, and I wondered how Chris Pine, a very wealthy actor, can't seem to get a decent shave that I can get with hot water, soap, and an old-school Merkur blade!

And in another movie, I saw what looked like big moles or occlusions on some actress's chest. After that, I decided that either today's actors need to put on more clothing or I need to just stop watching movies and TV shows.

Today I don't even know if my TV panel still works. It's been at least 4 or 5 years since I had it on! All thanks to 4K, haha!
