hi all, I’m new to komplete (6 months) still finding my way around. I’ve been making some tracks in idea view , so now I want to arrange some. I click over to clip mode and I have no sound, on the right click of computer I can’t see anything that says append . I’ve watched a few YouTube tutorials and they say you have to append the patterns. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

You dont necessarily need to use Clips, you can just use Song mode with Sections, it sounds like you should go thru some beginner videos or the manual.

Right-click close to a Scene name and select "Append To Song"

Patterns repeat automatically. Just increase the length of the Section which uses the Scene in which the Pattern is active.

Hi, I finally got it ! I was right clicking on the pattern not the scene, it works! Thank you

What did you mean just out of curiosity about not necessarily using clips to arrange, I do find it quite laborious tbh .

    No problem. :)

On the Song Mode / Arranger you can either use Clips or Sections, sections are basically the same as Scenes, they can repeat or be in multiple places on the Arranger timeline, if you edit one the others will also change (usefull for repeating things like hooks, bridge, etc…) while Clips are unique, changes to one dont affect the others… Clips also work 'above' Sections so can be usefull to add unique details.

IMO the concept of Sections/Scenes is the first thing one should master in terms of arranging in Maschine. below bright colors mean clips the rest are sections:

Thanks, I’ll try that instead, is there a way of repeating each pattern instead of having to right click and keep repeating over and over, if I want to drums to play for 5 minutes it takes forever! Thanks

Clips are a nice way to add variety to your song without unnecessarily inflating scenes with semi-redundant patterns. For instance, say you have a 4-bar build up with a clap every other beat, but want to repeat it for another 4 bars but with the clap on every beat. You can add the scene/section twice then span both 4-bar sections with a clip for the clap for a total of 8 bars.

    Hope this made sense!
