It means that you have something installed on your original profile that is causing a conflict.

If you follow the suggestions, do a time machine backup, clean install macOS Sonoma using some recovery options which you'll need to look up, then upon restoring your iCloud ID and files, don't chose to import system files and settings, start clean it will be fixed. And yes Sonoma and Trackor on intel work perfectly.

Make sure you learn how to use Disk Utility first to wipe your drive clean and use Internet Recovery to get to the latest version. You could also create a bootable USB for Sonoma which ultimately would be better should you need to repeat the process.

My point being… you will need to erase the drive in disk utility first and then install Sonoma.
Don't simply upgrade over the top of current installation.
Plenty of details on line to help you achieve this.

No problem, and that's exactly what you should have done if profile restore did not work for you.

You should be fine if you keep your macOS up to date yearly. But do always have a time machine backup so you can do the clean install if needed. You dont nessecarialy have to restore using the wizard. Thats another subject, but it looks like you have found your way!

This is another example where Traktor wants to use a directory created in ~/Documents and I wouldn't advise it. Where were your files previously?

You should have a Native Instruments directory in your $HOME folder. e.g "/Users/barryholland/Native Instruments" and let everything write and read to that folder. Dont have your Documents in any path when referring to your music files or directories.

What you chose during install is crucial, so don't use defaults. Let us know where your main directory was before. Customize the install path for all folders in which none should contain the path Documents or even a symbolic link via Documents. Directly set all paths to a folder e.g "/Users/barryholland/Native Instruments"

If you dont have a directory "/Users/barryholland/Native Instruments" then create one and start using it.

Everything was fine until 4.0.2 update, i definitely have

    /Users/barryholland/Native Instruments

for all my native instruments products

I have no idea how to change directories….

Thanks for the reply, i have raised a ticket so hopefully they can help aswell, the same happens if i try and launch 4.0.0. im stumped!!

Are you able to take a shot of Traktor settings > File Management….. there are 3 folders that need to be set
Root Dir, Sample Dir, Remix set dir.

Mapping these to /Users/barryholland/Native Instruments/ is the way to go.

Have you tried creating a new USER profile on macOS just to test?

Name the new USER profile TRAKTOR and make it administrator. See if it works for you running from that login.

    If not:
** Don't use Music with iCloud
** Backup to NAS / External Drive everything you have / Time Machine?

Blow the O/S away with a system recovery with the right key combinations for your system. You'll need use Disk Utility in recovery mode for this. Wipe it clean, format as APFS. Let the install process do its job. Re-install Native Access.

this is what support have suggested, I’ll try tonight!

I can’t face the other option, Traktor has worked for me for decades until this update, but if it doesn’t work natively and easily on my MacBook I’ll have to bin it!!
